SKADE secure Elisa Invitational Winter title

The Bulgarian side has clinched their first international trophy with the new lineup featuring former Fiend duo Kamen "bubble" Kostadinov and Simeon "dream3r" Ganev.

SKADE came out victorious at the Elisa Invitational Winter on Sunday. After being directly invited to the quarter-finals, the Bulgarian side plowed through the opposition over the last three days, beating Eternal Fire, Copenhagen Flames, and HEET without losing a map across the three series.

Currently ranked 27th in the world, the Bulgarians were only the eighth-highest-ranked team in attendance but managed to surpass the favored opposition, finishing ahead of teams such as Entropiq and ENCE.

The SKADE-Fiend shuffle has borne fruit

The victory, which sees bubble and company come away with the $50,000 grand prize, came as a big boost while the Bulgarian team competed in several other tournaments without success, most importantly in open qualifiers for the PGL Major Antwerp European RMR event.

SKADE will hope to carry on that form in their last attempt to make it to the all-important RMR event, which will determine all European and CIS representatives taking part in the Major.

They are set to face ONYX in the round of 16 of the fourth and final open qualifier at 16:00 , less than two hours following their victory at Elisa Invitational Winter.

The final standings of Elisa Invitational Winter 2021:

1. Bulgaria SKADE - $50,000

The firepower on this roster looks insane, the trio of dream3r, SHIPZ and dennyslaw is basically destroying Tier-2. Really nice to watch them, althought I doubt they will be a Tier1 team.

This core is always getting this tier 2 decent prize pool wins. They are almost in the top 100 by money earned without ever breaking into tier 1. Efficient af, gz!

Makes sense to invite your former champions who made the run from regionals in the past, no? Or only ENCE can get an invite ?

The team is strong and they should do well. The only question I have is about bubble. I get he is the IGL, but if it is enough..

On an interview a while back (like 6 months, not 6 years) after a game where he hit a 30 bomb they asked him what he did differently to have so good individual performance. The answer was that before a game he usually prepares tactics and things like that, but in this case he managed to warm up properly. Just saying that he doesnt have 17 people staff like some teams.
