$100,000 Fragadelphia 17 and qualifying circuit announced

A total of ten events will be held in the United States during the circuit.

A new Fragadelphia circuit featuring $155,000 in prize money on offer — culminating with Fragadelphia 17 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — is set to begin in April, the tournament organizer announced on Friday. Over the course of spring and summer there will be eight tournaments awarding circuit points, which will determine the invites for the $100,000 finals event in September.

Strife are the reigning Fragadelphia champions

The previous Fragadelphia 16 held a similar circuit, with various tournaments held across the country, awarding points to competing teams and ultimately qualifying the top eight to Frag 16. The top four teams had accommodations for the event covered, while an additional eight received direct invitations.

For interested teams, early sign-ups are available on the Nerd Street Gamers website. Here are the nine events to be held leading up to the finals in Philadelphia:

Georgetown, Texas: April 30 - May 1
Denver, Colorado: May 7-8
Brentwood, Missouri: May 17-18
North Brunswick, New Jersey: June 11-12
Chicago, Illinois: June 18-19
Fullerton, California: June 25-26
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: July 16-17
Fullerton, California: August 12-14
Last Chance Qualiifer: September 8

most of the money comes from the teams that are playing qualifications, 250USD per team, 16 teams per 1 qualification. Last chance is 500$, max of 64 teams = 16000$ + 16*250*8=32000$ +/- 2000$ from late signing It gives us 50k USD + sponsors etc

Is there a reason that usually no higher tier teams play in this? easy money no?

Visa problems maybe
2022-03-27 13:51
top SA/NA teams with higher tiers are invited to the main stage, like I said these are only the qualifications to the tournament. for high tiers team from EU it's just not worth it to play in it, you need to maintain the lineup in the USA for about 2 months.

It helps the amateur teams, gives them some money to live off of till they can make a name for themselves. Obviously for actual pro teams the prize is a few pennies for them

Great initiative! CSNA has to come back strong! the more strong regions, the stronger the CS! There are some donkeys that only criticize, if it depended on these donkeys, CS would have ended!

If the "best" European team that goes there is Apeks Rebels and they make it to the final, NA scene has very big problem.
