Wolsung announce full-time roster

Through their partnership with entertainment and gaming brand Spēlēt.lv, Wolsung have revealed their dedicated full-time lineup.

Following an agreement which sees Spēlēt.lv become the Latvian team's general sponsor, Wolsung announce their newly-fielded roster comprising of the region's brightest stars after an almost ten-year absence of a designated CS:GO lineup from the country.

Wolsung are a household name in both Latvia and their region, having earned several local and Baltic trophies to their name as well as housed some of today's biggest names such as Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis, Aurimas "⁠Bymas⁠" Pipiras, and Helvijs "⁠broky⁠" Saukants.

The squad will include in-game leader Reinis "⁠hyskeee⁠" Grīnbergs, who previously played for the organization as well as forZe, and AWPer Roberts "⁠shield⁠" Tipsis, who drew praise from fellow Latvian YEKINDAR in his top 20 bold prediction for 2022.

Alongside hyskeee and shield, the lineup also comprises of former MAD Lions player Kristers "⁠keen⁠" Dārznieks, Daniēls "⁠discplex⁠" Bieziņš, and Krists "⁠msn⁠" Kalniņš. In the previous month they have competed together, they managed to secure a fourth-place finish at the FantasyExpo EU Champions Spring 2022 Europe Closed Qualifier.

"I truly believe we have all the pieces in our roster to achieve our goal - top 30 HLTV and ESEA Conference League," hyskeee said. "After that, we just need to keep grinding and get the necessary experience to take us to the next level."

Rounding up the roster is former Daugava and Latvian national team member Miks "⁠Independent⁠" Siliņš, who recently retired from active play and has since moved onto a role as the team's coach and general manager.

Spēlēt.lv's Gaming division head, Gustavs Ērkšķis-Kreicbergs, has also released an official statement:

"This partnership will allow the players to dedicate all of their time and energy to training and playing, which is a true milestone for the evolution of the Latvian CS:GO community and esports scene, by allowing them to realize their full potential and expand the recognition of esport in Latvia and by extension, in the Baltics."
