The initial game saw Spirit once again surpass expectations, pushing the superstar lineup headlined by Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen to their limits. The captain Leonid "⁠chopper⁠" Vishnyakov was leading by example but was outmatched by another brilliant performance by Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard who solidified his candidature for the tournament MVP.

Following next in the arena was a clash between ENCE and Natus Vincere, but this one turned out to be a more one-sided affair as Aleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev reminded everyone as to why he is considered the greatest. A 1.76 rating for the series allowed Natus Vincere to reach another Major grand final and put them two maps away from defending their Stockholm Major title.
