trace to miss IEM Dallas

The Danish coach will miss the event in Texas due to visa issues.

Martin "trace" Heldt will not stand behind the Astralis squad at IEM Dallas, the Danish organization announced on Twitter. The 31-year-old coach has faced issues with his ESTA application due to a promotional trip to Iran in 2012 with fnatic and thus will not be able to travel to the United States with the team.

This is a blow to Astralis as the team was set to tackle the $250,000 tournament in Dallas, Texas, with hopes of making up for an early exit in the PGL Major Antwerp Challengers Stage.

Visa issues will force trace to help the squad from home

"Sadly, because of a CS trip to Iran 10 years ago, I need a visa (which takes months) instead of a simple ESTA application. I will help the team from home instead," stated the Danish coach on Twitter.

trace initially joined the Danish organization in January 2022 as the coach of their academy project, Astralis Talent. However, It did not take long for him to stand behind the main squad, taking over the reins ahead of the PGL Major Antwerp Major cycle due to Alexander "ave" Holdt's Major ban before becoming the permanent coach in early May.

IEM Dallas is set to start on Monday, May 30, and will see Astralis take on Vitality in the second set of games in Group A at 19:10 .

It takes around 1 month even for Russians in usual conditions. (Takes longer now tho) So I doubt it takes "months" for danes and he had no time to apply for visa since he first knew he was going to IEM Dallas.

2022-05-28 15:37
This post is really written poorly. The reason he can't go is because he went to Iran 10 years ago and therefor can't use the VISA WAIVER PROGRAM.... which is to help certain countries if you have certain conditions. The default for everyone is to get a VISA. As a professional who travels you should know this and should've applied, I'm not a fan of America but this is all on Trace being unprofessional and not realizing this and therefor not applying for a via on time.

the government and everyone around it are pieces of shit, the country is beautiful, the people (especially outside the city) are amazing. Also, you can just say "citizens", making them canadian might work in murica but the rest of the world just cares about people, whatever nationality they are from. Of those 63 "canadians" only 5 used their passport, rest used their Iran passport.
