NAVI remove Boombl4 from active roster

The organization has announced the removal of their IGL via their website.

Natus Vincere have announced the removal of their IGL, Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov, from their active lineup, citing "high reputational risks for the club" as the reason for their decision, and further reiterating that the change is not due to in-game performances.

Boombl4 is no longer a member of the NaVi lineup

The Natus Vincere roster for their upcoming tournament, BLAST Premier Spring Final, will be announced at a later date.

The news comes in the wake of an interview by the CEO of Natus Vincere where he said "We are not going to work with people who live in Russia and who pay taxes to the Russian Federation," and that he hopes "that the Russia-based players are going to relocate."

NAVI CEO: "We hope that we are going to keep [the CS:GO] roster and that the Russia-based players are going to relocate"

The Russian tactician was a member of the lineup for just under three years, during which his team won PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 among many other titles. The team recently made the final of the PGL Major Antwerp, where they fell to FaZe.

yes but ur last sentence doesn't add up to ur first point. The thing here with the "politics" is simply that the Ukrainian government is forcing any company in their country to cut ties to any business related to russians or their finances so they HAVE to get rid of this problem. So this is not really a matter of politics but is rather a unique law enforcement because of the war on which NaVi as an organisation (company) has to obey. I don't think there is any problems on personal level. Although the recent defeat at the Major and BoombI4's lack of individual form might have sped up the process thats why we don't see an immediate electronic boot as it was on VP

Boombl4s partner actively supports the Russian troops on social media (and apparently they're together again) so yes his standpoint on this whole thing seems very clear. Now this is of course his opinion and he is free to do so, but noone can hate NaVi for this decision. 10/10 bigger companies would fire/not hire in the first place for similar political activities if they find out about them after giving warnings. Even if they didn't have to do this by law they probably would regardless since this will just lead to conflicts, especially when coming from the IGL who is usually a vocal person/needs to be trusted/respected by the others.

Well true, but the story is the reason Boombl4 is benched is because he refuses to leave Russia, where his family is, I believe Perfecto was already out of russia and Electronic packed his family up and went. Now NaVi insisted all players leave Russia, but Boombl4 didnt want to cause you know, career or family its a tough choice, especially when you cant pack em up like Electronic. So Boombl4 is gone, who replaces I dont know, but i knew this from a guy i talk with fairly regularly (insert source trust me bro meme here) but he mentioned this to me maybe 2-3 days ago and its been known in the team for a while cause he said its been S1mple calling the shots. It's because Na'Vi doesn't want to pay taxes to Russia. Means that their Russian players much be relocated. I assume perfecto and Electronics already move out of Russia, meaning that they don't pay taxes to russia and won't return. However, with boombl4 wife it's impossible for him to move out without probably divorcing her. Seems like it was a choice between her AND his friends/family with his career. Electronics at least can get his family to go out. I don't think electronics would stay at na'vi if his wife is like boombl4 wife.

Problem is not that Boombl4 is gone, problem is that there is literally noone who can replace him. He has to IGL, play at least tier-1,5 and not from Russia, there is literally not a single one that fits this conditions. Ofc Pinnacle is exagerration, but this 100% severe downgrade that Navi will not compensate in months if not years. We will not see them in Rio finals.

Perfecto will probably move to the Balkans or something, like M0nesy for G2, but I can't see Electronic uprooting or breaking up his family for his team. Maybe Na'Vi is still trying to convince him? I hope they can poach Jerry from ForZe and get him to move to the Balkans, because there's not really any other good Russian-speaking leader available, unless S1mple himself would lead, but that's going to negatively impact either his performance or the team performance (not both, because we know he has the tactical skill to lead).
