BIT to stand in for brnz4n at IEM Dallas

The Brazilian coach will play in a MIBR jersey for the first time in 13 years.

MIBR has announced that coach Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima will be standing in for the team at IEM Dallas as Breno "brnz4n" Poletto was not able to secure a visa in time to travel with the rest of his teammates.

The 18-year-old was slated to debut in official capacity at IEM Dallas as a full-fledged member of MIBR following his recent promotion, which comes after a nine month tenure in the academy team and a positive stint as a stand-in for the main team at the beginning of the year, but will have to wait until after the event in Texas.

BIT will be in the server with his players in Dallas

brnz4n missing IEM Dallas is piled upon a stack of teams and players that will not be able to attend the event in Texas, with Hampus "hampus" Poser, Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and Martin "trace" Heldt affected, as well as the whole of Natus Vincere, Entropiq and Heroic.

MIBR to replace Heroic at IEM Dallas

MIBR themselves were one of the last-minute additions, taking the place of Casper "cadiaN" Møller and company, who had complications with Covid-19 travel regulations. Initially MIBR looked into bringing an academy player to compete with the main team, but were unable to make it happen with such short notice.

BIT, who was made MIBR's coach in April, was also once a MIBR player himself dating all the way back to 2007 — winning several international tournaments with the Brazilian outfit over two years —, and will play in the team's jersey for the first time in 13 years.

The team MIBR will field at IEM Dallas is:

Brazil Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes
Brazil Raphael "exit" Lacerda
Brazil Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia
Brazil Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian
Brazil Bruno "BIT" Fukuda Lima (stand-in)

Brazil Renato "nak" Nakano (coach)

Of course not? Stop saying bullshit, Visa is a cross-check agreement between countries, i.e. US citizen that comes to Brazil needs a Visa as well. Overall, it depends on how is the Visa agreement between Brazil and each country.

The US visa requirement was lift by Bolsonaro, not needed anymore and I'm pretty sure most European citizens can also go to Brazil. I know that because I was researching to go to Rio. I'm Dane but I live in the US btw

That is correct, for Canada, Japan and Australia is the same. This was done to bring more tourists and business to Brazil. US also agreed to speed up their Visa request process including Brazil on the Global Entry list(Started in 2022). And yes, for most European countries that is no visa requirement on both sides. Important to mention: Non-Visa requirement does not guarantee entrance. Brazil's border officers may check foreigner's background anyway.

Im not buying this bs of "cant get visa". These teams had plenty of time to get prepared for this torny. To me it sounds like they didn't want to come and wanted time off.

no, it's genuinely very difficult to get visa to USA especially if you are from a nation in the middle east. From what I've heard, they often automatically decline 1st attempt just to make a statement.

Schengen area is usually way better to get visas for. You just need to prove you are not a criminal basically. The US visa department reserves itself the right to deny visas without any material proof or even base for suspicion, at the interviewer's discretion. Most young unmarried people of "lower income" countries get denied by default in their first application just for a point to be made... which is very likely what happened to Breno. It's a bad system that keeps legitimate entrants from generating revune TO THE US, which is insane.

2022-05-30 01:45
I didn't say the US system didn't have issues, but it's like no one remembers all the times people haven't made it to EU tournaments for the same reasons (and the reason it's been less frequent recently is because many people have been in Europe for months/years and don't require the same renewals currently). What likely happened is probably more down to timeframe than economic status.

Your point is well heard. But in the case of players who are between 16 and 20 years of age now, they probably never had the chance or reason to compete in US territory because of the pandemic, and are now automatically being shot down due to "not having enough roots keeping them in their country of origin", which is the standard excuse to block young people. That's my take, and I think it's unfair and pretty much backwards. The US should be about innovating and embracing the future, but things like these keep happening.

2022-05-29 22:50
The pandemic situation was 100% what I was referring to in my initial comment. But also keep in mind that because of prize money involved there's more than simply travel being considered. The US is a bit more lenient in this case, I doubt it's due to age restrictions/familial ties rather than timeframe. It's unfortunate, but our system is more strict than it needs to be at times. I'm obviously not in disagreement with you on that. But, also, it's been a long time since there's been an event here, and the travel issues used to be less problematic because most people had their travel needs ironed out. My entire point was that the problem is mostly pandemic related, and I stand by that.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_World_Trade.. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11_att.. To be fair I find it stupid that Trace was denied because of that, but this also comes back to people not competing here for 2+ years. Having a VISA is preferable to using an ESTA regardless. I still think it's dumb he was denied.

It's not about being Iranian specifically. It's because terror organizations recruit foreigners, so they're screening people who visit places like Iran more closely. I still think it's dumb, but that's the reason.
