The Russian organization once again has a full roster.

David "⁠n0rb3r7⁠" Danielyan and Petr "⁠fame⁠" Bolyshev have made the move from K23 to Virtus.pro, it was announced on Tuesday.

The team that has most recently played as Outsiders due to sanctions against Russian-based organizations has quickly completed its lineup following the removals of Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis and Timur "⁠buster⁠" Tulepov from the active squad.

The K23 duo will now wear a VP jersey

n0rb3r7 and fame represented K23 from August 2020 and January 2021, respectively, peaking at No. 14 in the ranking at the start of the year after success in online tournaments such as Malta Vibes Knockout Series 5 and Pinnacle Winter Series 1.

The team failed to follow those results up in the RMR qualifiers and missed out on chances to earn spots at events such as IEM Dallas and ESL Challenger Valencia before the star duo found their way to Virtus.pro.

Virtus.pro bench YEKINDAR and buster

The 21 and 19-year-old Russian players both averaged a 1.09 rating across 2022, with n0rb3r7 standing out with a higher opening kill attempt percentage and Impact rating. Both players are riflers, rarely seen wielding the AWP.

The squad currently is looking to debut with their new lineup at the ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference on June 16-20.

I am a little confused in what tournaments these guys will be able to compete in? Is there going to be a Russian-only scene?

But do you think that is viable in the long run? How long will VP be okay of just supporting the players as the "Outsiders"? And if there is no real difference for VP, how long until the European organizations ban the players? I'm just wondering, even though I am not a big fan of the play style of recent VP, there is definitely great potential in these five and I just hope we get to see them play.

Well I don't believe that the players will be banned, but I agree that it's a bad situation for VP org. Anyway I don't see any other options for VP other than wait for the situation to stabilize (the question is how long do they have to wait because for now it seems like good few months at least). Russian-only scene would be really boring so yeah, seems like no other options are available.

I completely agree, and I worry that this could take a long time. Even if the conflict ends tomorrow (which it obviously won't), the "e-sport sanctions" could stay longer than the actual sanctions if western TOs want to make it political. Seeing how Gambit exited fairly quickly, I am surprised that VP didn't follow suit. Regardless, I wish all the best for the players and hope the can compete on the big stage again soon (with some security/backing behind them).

who else besides blast did that? plus i suspect that blast banned all cis teams altogether just because they couldnt run the cis qual anymore because of weplay having to relocate from ukraine. probably they will go back on this decision for the fall season

yes, they will play 90% matches under Outsiders tag I suppose, but it is only name they created themselves, the org who manage team, pay salary etc is VP
