The duo is swapping the blue and orange jersey for a black and orange one.

fnatic have secured the signature of Nico "⁠nicoodoz⁠" Tamjidi and Fredrik "⁠roeJ⁠" Jørgensen from Copenhagen Flames for the upcoming season, the organization announced on Twitter. The Danish duo has been a key part of the Flames' recent success, and come fresh off a playoffs run at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

The London-based organization is hoping to get back on track with its Counter-Strike team following a series of struggles and player outgoings in recent months. Just this year, fnatic has seen Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield's departure, the sale of star player Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin to NIP, and most recently, the benching of Alex "⁠ALEX⁠" McMeekin and Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev after the team's failure to qualify for the Major in Belgium.

nicoodoz and roeJ will now carry the fnatic banner

nicoodoz has been one of Denmark's standout players in recent months, becoming one of the highest-rated AWPers from the region while competing at the two last Majors with Copenhagen Flames. The 21-year-old sniper has accumulated a 1.20 rating on LAN against top 20 opposition this year, helping his team reach the Legends and Champions Stages in Stockholm and Antwerp respectively.

Meanwhile, roeJ has been present in the Danish scene for quite some time. The 28-year-old played for the MAD Lions lineup that took the Flashpoint 1 trophy home, and after a relatively quiet period, came back to tier one competition with Copenhagen Flames. roeJ has so far displayed a 1.04 rating on LAN against top 20 opposition throughout his career.

fnatic has seen several players come and go in the past year following the organization deciding to abandon the team's Swedish identity in favor of a European roster in summer 2021. This year has not been kind to the squad, with departures forcing them to play with stand-ins and academy players for several events, including ESL Pro League S15 and PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Europe RMR A.

The boys in black and orange are now just one player short of a full roster ahead of their scheduled debut at the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 starting on June 8.

I actually like the idea of mezii being the IGL. There's such a lack of good tier1 IGL's today (the fact that MSL still gets mentioned in conversations after 2 years of nothing) proves my point. Teams need to take some chances and create the IGL's of the future.

I don't think it's gonna work, whoever they get as 5th player. I feel like it will only destroy Copenhagen Flames, it seems like a downgrade for roeJ and nicoodoz. The only advantages for them are probably higher earnings and a chance to test themselves at international roster.

Not signed yet but its almost done ... but anything can happen! Rumors about shox leaving Liquid go well too, he doesnt like much their "NA" spirit. The team doesnt want to stay more than 1day after an EU event, the NA scene is pretty bad so they cant really train against good teams like europeans, jetlags, etc... The management of Fnatic is ridiculously bad. First they signed the players based on 1-lifetime performance ( Poison and smooya) when there was an option of regali right infront of them. Then they kicked the main awper and sold their only star player and played with the 3 stand-ins. Now they'hv signed 2 danish guys who never played in the international roster before. The worst mistake is you're supposed to pick IGL and Coach first and then make a team around them in case of international rosterand not the other way around. Every roster which underrated IGL always failed. The best solution infront of them is either get an danish IGL or make a full danish line-up altogether. And I dont even know who are they gonna get for IGL spot.
