ztr to replace hampus for Global Esports Tour Dubai

NIP will be without their in-game leader for the second competition in a row.

Hampus "hampus" Poser announced on Tuesday through his official twitter account that he will not be joining his team at the Global Esports Tour in Dubai, just days before NIP's first match against NASR is set to begin.

This means that Erik "ztr" Gustafsson, the Young Ninjas shotcaller, has once again been called up to take the 23-year-old's place. He also served as a stand-in for the team during their IEM Dallas campaign, where they finished 9-12th overall, bowing out in the their group's lower bracket semi-finals.

The young Swede will once again play alongside the main team

Not having their IGL for back-to-back tournaments will definitely impact NIP's stability within their main roster even further, having struggled to maintain a consistent group of players due to varying reasons over the past year, with Love "phzy" Smidebrant and Linus "LNZ" Holtäng also getting stints playing as members of the starting lineup.

Though he will be cheering his team on from afar, hampus mentioned that he has been feeling better, but chose to sit out the tournament to further recover and prepare for the upcoming IEM Cologne.

NIP's lineup heading into Dubai is as follows:

Sweden Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
Sweden Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora
Sweden Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin
Denmark Patrick "es3tag" Hansen
Sweden Erik "ztr" Gustafsson (stand-in)

Sweden Daniel "djL" Narancic (coach)

Seems unlikely at this point. Funnily enough, Nawwk would be ideal for NiP right now.

2022-06-07 16:28
He’s not? He literally just is sitting out this tournament which is completely fair especially because of being sick. Even the HLTV page is stating he’s on the roster, something they at least didn’t do when Dev1ce got benched. Also, Hampus is the one giving the statement, not NiP

Funny how you should mention players that have support roles or similar roles. I'm guessing in ur mind, every cs player has to top-frag and do sick kills right? That's not how the game works, and you should take a reality check.
2022-06-07 23:48
they play and spend so much time on cs, just cus ur enjoying the game now doesnt mean u can handle all the stress that comes with the competition, traveling all the time and always having to rise to high expectations. Most of us have had several "regular" jobs and i think most will say it might be a lot more boring in the moment but it isnt as stressfull at all
2022-06-07 18:13

Maybe in ur tiny danish bubble. Reality is most people deal with extreme stress at work.
2022-06-07 19:27

So do cs pros, more than almost any other e-sport. OFc there are harder and more stressful jobs out there but most arent as hard or requiring. Maybe its cus ur condensing it to just getting paid to play video games and travel the world that it sounds so easy. Also stress is very subjective, if ur used to working a certain regular job, then the buildup of expectations can lead to as much stress for the individual as a pro cs player. But i can promise u that 95% of people with regular jobs wouldnt be able to play and stay at tier 1 even if they where gifted the mechanics to do so cus of the radical change.
