Natus Vincere have reclaimed the throne at the top of the world rankings, slipping ahead of FaZe by twenty points to oust the PGL Major Antwerp champions from the No. 1 spot.

FaZe dropping down to second place after 13 weeks at the top follows in the wake of a downturn of results for the European combine since they won the Major, having exited IEM Dallas and the BLAST Premier Spring Final in 5-6th place, and finishing the Roobet Cup as runners-up to BIG.

NAVI and FaZe could battle for the No. 1 spot in the Cologne grand final

Conversely, Natus Vincere have enjoyed a return to form after parting with Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov and bringing in Viktor "⁠sdy⁠" Orudzhev on a trial basis, winning the BLAST Premier Spring Final in convincing fashion in a run that saw them absolutely batter FaZe 16-6 and 16-1 in the quarter-finals.

Coming into IEM Cologne, both lineups have been far and away the best teams in the event, easing through their respective groups to earn spots in the semi-finals. However, as points for the event won't be factored into their LAN and achievement rankings until after it concludes, either team could easily pull ahead of the other depending on how the tournament ends.

As Natus Vincere and FaZe will begin their playoff runs on either side of the bracket, we could be headed for a thrilling showdown between the two teams in the grand final to determine which of them will be able to claim the crown heading into the break. First up though: just making it to the best-of-five title decider.

Faze CAN win IEM because Navi some NAvi player are inconsistent rn, but if all show up, Navi wins. Without the war Faze wouldnt have ever been #1 and thats a fact. Imagine Faze players had the Situiation Navi had, the Major Final wouldnt even be close, if Faze even did get to the Finals. Faze Fans need to get realistic fr.

+1 too many Faze fans coping that their wins were just fluke. They were so lucky that invasion started and demlished ~5 CIS teams, plus, there were (and still kinda are) ~3 top teams completely rebuilding (Vita, G2, NiP), that's ~8 top teams completely out of play, with only ENCE being somewhat competitive. And even then, Faze had 3 super close maps vs a completely new G2 in Kato and almost went 1-2 at major if C9 didn't fuck up their veto. Also as you mentioned, almost lost that Inferno and i think that tilted Navi, so it could have gone 2-0 for NaVi actually. Faze fans can't cope with the fact that Faze results were just fluke

Exactly, if Navi closed Inferno, Nuke would have been a completely different Game. especially because some Faze Players would have been tilted AF getting another comeback in a Major final :D And if Navi didnt have such a bad start, they probably won it. But we will never know, lets see what happens Sunday hopefully, if Navi wins, im really curious to see Faze Fans excuses then :D

Navi fans don't care. And it CERTAINLY doesn't help if you are as toxic as them. You are so upset at these guys that you forgot the original roster, who were in deep crap long before the major started. Despite the horrendous state they are in, they still got 2nd(which is not bad) but you still insist they should go tier 3. Kato is when it started and they got to the semis despite their mental is almost dead, epl quarters and recovered at the major with 2nd place. Won blast later. Sure Faze is the better team overall right now, but the point is, they don't face handicap like Navi did. I'm really worried about some of people above. You should know trashing your biggest opponent belittles achievements of your favorite team. It's much more fun watching your team play strong opponents. More satisfying if they manage to win and less crushing if they end up loosing. Semifinals are gonna be true test of the form for both FaZe and NaVi. I'm also really curious about MRS. They might surprise Liquid and manage to put a strong fight against FaZe.

FaZe were lucky that NaVi had such a bad few weeks / month for private reasons. Otherwise they would have never won the Major, but its still deserved. Both Teams in Topform, NaVi is clearly the better team, no doubt about it.
