OG to attend ESL Challenger Melbourne

The European squad qualified based on their global ranking.

ESL have announced OG as the latest addition to the cast of ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, the offline tournament set to take place in Australia at the beginning of September. The event will run alongside DreamHack Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena and will see eight teams compete for $100,000.

OG are the sixth team to be announced, and only the second based on their ESL World Rankings alongside ORDER, with two additional squads set to join them in the upcoming weeks. Meanwhile, Wings Up, Entropiq, EG White, and VERTEX all came through their respective regional qualifiers.

nexa is set to return Down Under

It will be Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković's first big competition in the Oceanic region since IEM Sydney 2017. The Serbian in-game leader was representing the home team of Renegades during the Australian core's 6-7th place finish.

Thats silly. EG might be one of the best teams this year. Since they are creating the most cutting edge meta game, I'll excuse your ignorance but EG is easily a top 5 team.... Think, EG is now 15 players. EG1 = Rank #193, EG2 = Rank #56, and EG3 = Rank #59. So their true rank is (193 - 59 - 56) = 78 divided by 15 players = 5.2. They are only BARELY outside a top 5 team.... I'm sure your comment was just bait but with this easy math, it doesn't leave any room for ambiguity. Its an exact science. Anyone who disagrees probably also thinks that vaccines have microchip tracking in them.... Prove me wrong.

they had to make some events overlap because they have a set calendar and number of events to do per year, and they chose this one because it's in a relatively remote location and it's hard to imagine many relevant teams attending even if it was on a prime date
