fnatic round out roster with FASHR signing

The 26-year-old is the second player to leave ECSTATIC, following Thomas "⁠birdfromsky⁠" Due-Frederiksen's departure earlier in the week.

fnatic have officially signed Dion "⁠FASHR⁠" Derksen to their competitive roster, buying the Dutch rifler from ECSTATIC and filling in the lineup's final slot after previously fielding Ludvig "⁠HEAP⁠" Alonso on a trial basis.

The move also puts an end to any uncertainty regarding who will be at the helm for the European mix, with fnatic confirming that William "⁠mezii⁠" Merriman will be the team's in-game leader moving forward.

FASHR completes fnatic's 5-man roster

FASHR's nearly yearlong stint with the ECSTATIC squad, dating back to when they competed under the banner of Lyngby Vikings, has seen him enjoy success at various local and international tournaments such as taking first at the Funspark ULTI EU Regional Series 3, 1-2nd at the Pinnacle Fall Series 2 Regionals, and second at the Pinnacle Fall Series 2.

“I feel honoured and humbled to be wearing the iconic Black and Orange. I'm confident that together with my new teammates we are able to achieve great things," FASHR shared. "We're aiming to build a new, lasting dynasty with this team.”

The Dutchman's signing finally brings an end to fnatic's roster overhaul dating back to June 2021 where they benched Alex "⁠ALEX⁠" McMeekin and Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev and welcomed the former Copenhagen Flames duo of Nico "⁠nicoodoz⁠" Tamjidi and Fredrik "⁠roeJ⁠" Jørgensen.

fnatic would then proceed to play with mezii as their shotcaller, the legendary Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg as a stand-in for the Pinnacle Cup Championship, and HEAP on a trial basis, before settling on FASHR as their fifth. The roster will have its competitive debut in the Major qualifiers that kick off on August 15.

Yeah, that's very agreeable. With dennis, they had the most fluid pistol rounds because they had the most consistent pistol player. They always looked indomitable and it is a shame that it wasn't as successful as with Pronax, as they never won a Major with dennis and eventually they did a roster split. It's hard to determine with iteration of fnatic was stronger, but I would still give it to fnatic with Pronax, that was the best iteration of fnatic, but that's just me. ^^

Yeah, not gonna lie. I think you might be sleeping on him a bit. :) I think this could potentially be a very good pick-up for fnatic. I think the whole CPH-Sprout-Ecstatic-fnatic interchange could possibly be quite healthy for all teams. What team will come out on top of these 4 teams? Time will tell, but it will be interesting to say the least.

roeJ is just as good as nicoodoz imo. I don't mean to hate on fashr, but he's the team's weakest link if you ask me. This is the team's firepower imo (flag checks out, but still): nicoodoz = roeJ > mezii (hindered by being the IGL) > KRIMZ (used to be a beast, but is on the decline) > FASHR.

honestly I have a feeling roej will turn out to be the weakest link. I dont know FASHR never seen him play so I cant comment on him. also think mezzi is better then roej. even if his an igl now. agree on krimz he can still pop off but his a solid support player with great stage experience. love the man.

My point isnt if they are good or not What I meant is that fnatic doesn't have a serious and ambitious project in cs mezii is an insane rifler and was put in the igl role, they sign nicodoz a good awper probably the best danish one ok good but then they sign players almost 30 years old while the csgo scene (especially EU) is full of young talents waiting for opportunities at t1 events If fnatic management was serious they would build a good young team with an experienced captain around nicoodoz and mezii thinking about the long term
