9INE announce new Polish roster
Grzegorz "SZPERO" Dziamałek has returned to competition and AWPing.
Swedish esports organization 9INE have returned to the Counter-Strike scene with a new Polish roster. Piotr "nawrot" Nawrocki from Illuminar will be the coach of the new team, with SZPERO set to become the in-game leader and main AWPer following a short stint as a free agent.
Joining the 31-year-old from free agency is Krzysztof "Goofy" Górski alongside young talents Kacper "Kylar" Walukiewicz and Kamil "KEi" Pietkun. Wiktor "mynio" Kruk rounds out the roster, forming a veteran duo with the captain.
The roster's core consists of players that shared the Anonymo banner in 2021 but have since played for other teams such as MONKE and Illuminar. mynio also temporarily played alongside SZPERO and Goofy at Wisla Krakow in late 2021. The Polish organization recently shut down its esports operation, releasing all its players at the end of July.
Goofy and KEi currently display the highest ratings of the lineup in 2022, with 1.07 and 1.08 respectively, but it's worth noting that only the former and SZPERO have more than 32 maps played this year.
"I'm really excited to join new team 9INE! Thank you for your trust and thanks to my great teammates for giving me a chance. I'm super happy to play AWP again. I really missed it," announced SZPERO on Twitter.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity and I believe that with this lineup we can achieve every goal we set if we get things right," added coach nawrot.
The new roster is set to debut at ESL Challenger League Season 42 Europe, starting on August 16.
