MIBR announce chelo departure

The 24-year-old leaves the team amid rumors of him joining Imperial.

MIBR announced the departure of Brazilian rifler Marcelo "⁠chelo⁠" Cespedes from the active roster, ending the 24-year-old's 19-month stint with the organization. The move comes after a report from Dust2.com.br stated that he is the favorite to replace Lincoln "⁠fnx⁠" Lau at Imperial.

His replacement at MIBR is not yet known. However, another report from Dust2.com.br declared that the Brazilian squad will be signing Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles to fill the vacant spot on the roster.

The Brazilian transferred to MIBR when the organization signed his BOOM team in January 2021, after the organization was unable to agree on contract extensions with their roster at the time, led by Vito "⁠kNgV-⁠" Giuseppe.

The first year in the lineup was not a particularly successful one for the Brazilian, as his team experienced early exits from the two BLAST Groups and ESL Pro League Season 13. That prompted the organization to make several changes, keeping only chelo and Raphael "⁠exit⁠" Lacerda from their lineup.

MIBR entered 2022 with three new players in Adriano "⁠WOOD7⁠" Cerato, Matheus "⁠Tuurtle⁠" Anhaia and Jhonatan "⁠JOTA⁠" Willian but were once again unable to make their mark on the world stage, with their biggest success coming in the form of qualification for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Challengers Stage.

After their Major appearance, the team returned to tier two competition, where chelo had two fantastic events — first averaging a 1.34 rating at Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 before following that up with a 1.30 rating at ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference, where he was by far the best player on his team.

Imo with the hen1 addition they should bring in felps. Even if he has some of his issues he is one of the best BR riflers and can take this team to the next level. Might be even better than furia at some point lul tho I doubt it because kcserato and yuurih are too good for that to happen

Wood7 wasn’t particularly good, but I guess its interesting what they can build around felps. If they are rich I hope they bring together some decent talents from the other squads like pain and below with some star players surrounded by veterans who cant go that far. Tho even then i have my doubts on their ability to do anything international if they go with basically free agents like Wood7 and felps. Maybe they only want to market in BR.

Their core will be: Wood7 (igl) Felps (star player) v$m Lucaozy Lux (new br talent) Wood7 is top 3 brazil igl and felps is top 5 br aimer, if the rest of the core play good consistently, they might even get a spot @ the major

Fair enough i dont watch a lot of BR cs didn’t know Wood7 was actually the mibr igl. Honestly hard to see them make it further than NA RMR. Felps and wood are alright and have a lot of experience, but v$m hasn’t done much outside killing his career by not signing the mibr contract and becoming pretty meh tho he is at least decent. Idk who the last 2 guys are that much, but it looks good to get through the qualifier hell teams will face. RMR should be their goal and some freaky shit needs to happen for them to actually get much farther. Imo they should go buy a biguzera level talent or like malbsmd guy instead of that luca/lux guy. Luca has some international play so maybe keep him, but I dont see why you risk on completely new BR talent when you can get a guy like malbs who is on the bench who has a lot of experience or biguzera who is pretty good.

they had to buyout 4 of the 5 (and Lucaozy even cost more than 1.8M BR$), that's why they couldn't buy another massive talent and focused on the BR scene

Fair enough tho honestly why not buy malbs off the bench (no way he costs even 1/3rd that number) and then have leftover for possibly another guy than risk on young talent (who I assume still has a buyout)?

i think the major problem here is the fact that Malbs has family in Guatemala, so makes more sense to fit himself in one of the NA-based rosters (like TeamOne and paiN), apparently Fluxo will be based in BR

Ah ok well with the buyout you told me about they seem to have high ambitions in csgo so I guess if they fail (tho idk what their goals are) they will spend the money in order to push themselves further in major contention. Interesting org/team for sure.
