paiN, MIBR, 00NATION qualify for Americas RMR

Marcelo "coldzera" David's side came out on top of a three-map affair against the newly-formed Fluxo to earn their spot at the RMR.

Three teams have confirmed their berth to the Americas RMR for the IEM Rio Major following the conclusion of the first South American open qualifier, with paiN, MIBR, and 00NATION all assuring themselves of a chance to fight for a spot at the Major in their home country.

The qualifier was plagued by issues ranging from a lack of available servers, the release of a large CS:GO update, and direct DDoS attacks on ESEA servers. The combined problems led to the tournament organizer moving the qualifying matches from the second day of the qualifier to the third, with 00NATION also needing to play their quarter-final match.

00NATION will have a weight taken off their shoulders after qualifying

paiN emerged unscathed from the qualifier. defeating Isurus, ODDIK, 00NATION, and MIBR en route to securing their top seed. Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian's side, meanwhile, beat B4, The Union, and Fluxo to qualify, only narrowly edging out a win over the newly-formed squad led by their former captain Adriano "WOOD7" Cerato in a three-map series.

The loss didn't mean that Fluxo were completely out of contention though as one more spot was on offer to the winner of the third-place decider match, setting up a battle between a handful of former teammates in Vinicius "vsm" Moreira, João "felps" Vasconcellos, Epitacio "TACO" de Melo, and coldzera.

In the end, it was the former SK and Luminosity duo who came out on top, with the team conceding a lead on Vertigo before bouncing back with a comeback on Ancient and strong CT side on Nuke to prevail over Fluxo 2-1.

We played awful, almost losing to tier3 teams. Then Isurus beat us in another bad match.

I mean I guess getting Malbs delayed them a little

Malbs is an upgrade over Prt, they should have been even easier to have qualified... nothing justifies losing to NA nonamers in a region where the qualifier doesn't have PaiN to get in the way and doesn't have any of the 30 EG lineups registered.
