Groups for ESL Challenger Melbourne announced

The event is set to run from September 2–4, in Melbourne, Australia.

ESL have revealed the groups for ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, the $100,000 event being hosted in Australia from September 2–4.

The eight-team tournament will be split into two groups of four, playing out in a double-elimination format for the group stage. The event will then transition into a single-elimination bracket for the playoffs.

nexa and company head into the tournament as the highest-ranked team

OG will be headlining Group A, with the European combine coming into the event as the clear favourites as they sit at 15th in the world ranking. EG White will also be making an appearance in Group A, having secured their berth after a successful campaign through the North American closed qualifier back in July.

On the other side of the bracket, Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes will be making his debut for Imperial after being announced by the Brazilian organisation yesterday. ORDER and VERTEX will also be joining Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and company in Group B, with the home-town favourites hoping to make a splash in the event Down Under.

There’s no such thing as legitimate or illegitimate state. States either exist or they don’t. Stop spewing childish 0 iq talking points and learn some history.

EZ for 31 year old talent pwnalone group A seems much more stacked to me. OG and Entropiq are the best teams at the event, while pain has an unproven new roster and imperial just changed a player

Cmon Imperial let’s win at least this event so you can give us BR viewers a little hope BR CS is so bad nowadays that the last relevant thing we won was with FURIA in 2020… but of course it was during covid era so it was online tournaments from NA (I don’t even know if this counts as relevant lol)

RIGGED for Brazil. Cannot blame, though, Brazil’s got a huge audience. I wish the process of making groups was more transparent and rank based.
