Ninjas in Pyjamas announce women's team
The Nordic-majority squad will compete in ESL Impact Season 2.
Ninjas in Pyjamas have announced the signing of a new women's CS:GO team featuring a Nordic core. The roster will be led by Tilde "7licious" Byström, who joins alongside her CPH Flames fe teammate Jennica "jenkon" Sjögren.
The three remaining members of the starting five, Thea "pullox" Evensen, Marita "Minnie" Siljan Sørensen and Mayline-Joy "ASTRA" Champliaud, join the lineup after previously representing GODSENT fe.
The ex-GODSENT fe core competed in the first ESL Impact season, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the $123,000 LAN finals, and were present at ESL Impact Valencia after having made it through the open qualifier. They weren't able to make their mark in Spain, however, losing to CLG Red and MIBR fe in the group stage.
"I'm super proud to be a part of this lineup and I can assure you that with some time we will show the world what we can do. NIP has always been close to my heart and to have the opportunity to play under such a legendary org is just a dream come true, but the job is not done yet," 7licious reflected on joining the storied organization.
"NIP is making a monumental move by entering ESL Impact. It is a step in the right direction, a way for us to showcase that greatness and talent has no bounds," Hicham Chahine, NIP's CEO, said in a statement.
The team will make their debut in ESL Impact's European Division, which starts on September 8. They will fight among eight teams for one of the two spots at the LAN finals, set to be held in Jönköping in November.
