Astralis announce female roster
The squad will participate in future ESL Impact events.
Danish organisation Astralis has entered the female scene with the creation of Astralis fe, the announcement coming just before the start of ESL Impact Season 2.
The bulk of the roster is made up of the core of the Ambush fe team that won the ESL Impact Spring Cash Cup 1 Europe in March this year, with Yoana "Joanana" Vlaykova, Selin "spike" Sinem Alak and Héjja "kezziwow" Kászandrá all being part of that tournament victory.
Rachel "RacheLL" Kujawa, entry fragger for this new Astralis fe roster, previously teamed up with the aforementioned three players under the name SUL to win the ESL Impact Summer Cash Cup 3 Europe in July.
The final member is Aurora "aurora" Lyngdal, a player who first appeared on HLTV with LGB fe back in 2015, and who most recently featured for GODSENT fe.
With GODSENT she grabbed a second-place finish in the ESEA Winter 2021 Women Cash Cup 4 Europe, a top-four in the first ESL Impact League Europe season, and attended ESL Impact Valencia.
"We have long worked with the idea of a women's team in Counter-Strike, and we have been in dialogue with ESL from the very beginning to support the creation of the best possible international women's league," Astralis CEO Anders Hørsholt said of the formation of their new team.
"It is only natural for Astralis to be an active part of this development, which we want to push even further with our new team. Our values are grounded in performing at our best and always developing, but also in embracing gaming at all levels, regardless of traditional distinctions."
aurora, who will act as the team’s spokeperson, added "We have assembled a team that will be able to compete at the very top of all tournaments, with players who all want to be the best in the world,"

The team will debut in the European division of ESL Impact Season 2, which begins September 8. They will fight among eight teams for one of the two spots at the LAN finals, set to be held in Jönköping in November.
