In a press release, BLAST has revealed that the Paris Major will have $1,250,000 on offer.
That is a $250,000 increase compared to the prize pot of Majors dating back to MLG Columbus 2016, with the exception of PGL Major Stockholm, which had $2 million on offer as the first Major to take place in two years amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the increase comes from the fund previously allocated for the Regional Major Ranking events.

BLAST has announced that it will organize the first CS:GO Major of 2023 in Paris, France, on May 8-21. Qualifiers for the Regional Major Ranking ahead of the event will take place in February and March, and the RMRs themselves will run from April 3-9.
The Paris event will be the first Major to be held in France, and the first to be hosted by BLAST after many in the community called on the Danish-based tournament organizer to take on the biggest and most prestigious event in the calendar.
The news follows France's president Emmanuel Macron's comments from his pre-election campaign in April, in which he expressed his promise to support the esports scene in the country and his ambition for France to host a CS:GO Major and other esports events.
Macron released a video Tweet on Sunday, revealing that Paris would host BLAST's CS:GO Major in May in the Accor Arena, ahead of the announcement released by BLAST itself.
In a statement on the website, BLAST CEO Robbie Douek vowed to meet the community's expectations and deliver "the greatest Major to date."
"BLAST has always had an ambition and dream to be involved in a Major, an event that is rightly viewed as the pinnacle of esports and competitive gaming. We’ve been watching and waiting for the right moment to deliver an unforgettable Major," Douek said.
"Next year marks 10 years of Majors and we are highly confident of marking this occasion by delivering the greatest Major to date for CS:GO fans to experience and enjoy. We will be working closely with Valve to ensure we meet and exceed the community’s expectations and deliver an incredible event."
