OG qualify for the organization's first-ever Major

Outsiders have one last chance to qualify for IEM Rio through their final match at the Europe RMR.

OG are the latest team to qualify for the IEM Rio Major after they defeated Outsiders 2-1 at the Europe Regional Major Ranking tournament. After barely missing out on a spot at PGL Major Stockholm and PGL Major Antwerp, the organization is now set to attend its first-ever Major since its entry into CS:GO in late-2019.

In the spot-deciding match, the European mix fell short in their comeback attempt on Ancient and dropped their map pick 13-16, dominated on Dust2 16-5, and sealed the series on Inferno 16-13. Shahar "flameZ" Shushan was consistently the top fragger on his team and finished the match with 62 kills and a 1.33 rating.

OG conclude their hunt for a Major spot with a 3-1 record but can still clinch a Legends stage spot should they triumph in the third-place decider bracket also featuring Heroic and Vitality.

NEOFRAG shed a tear after qualifying for his first Major

Outsiders kicked off the series with a 5-0 lead on Ancient as OG struggled to find kills. Nemanja "nexa" Isaković's squad eventually got out of their early slump and won nine of the last ten rounds to give them a 9-6 advantage at halftime. Their troubles in the fragging department were completely overcome as the European mix's players put up multi-kill after multi-kill to take over the lead.

The CIS squad came out of the break with a ferocious flurry of attacks, which left OG's defenses helpless. The captain and AWPer, Dzhami "Jame" Ali, let his Big Green sing and even picked up a triple-kill in the 22nd. Maciej "F1KU" Miklas and Abdul "degster" Gasanov put an end to Outsiders' streak in the 25th, which sparked a comeback attempt from OG. It wasn't meant to be for nexa's men in the end, as the Russians denied the comeback in the penultimate round and sealed the map, 16-13.

As competitive as the first map was, the same couldn't be said for the battle on Dust2. OG annihilated Outsiders in the first half and stormed their way to an overwhelming 14-1 lead. Jame's squad tried to rally back in the second period, but their efforts ultimately just delayed the inevitable as OG took home the 16-5 victory and forced a decider on Inferno.

OG found success early on Inferno thanks to their ability to get the bomb down which turned into a swift 5-2 lead. Outsiders gave the European mix a taste of their own medicine and dominated the rest of the first half en route to a 9-6 lead at the switch. Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev and Petr "fame" Bolyshev topped the scoreboard with 14 kills each, with both even scoring a triple-kill along the way.

A pistol quad-kill by F1KU followed by a triple-kill in the next round from Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar started a 6-0 run for OG in the second half. Outsiders finally scored after getting the bomb down in the 22nd and eventually levelled the game up at 12-12. Back-and-forth action ensued until the European mix hit map and series point at 15-13. The win wasn't too far away as nexa delivered the final blow and defused the bomb to give OG the organization's first-ever Major appearance in history.

Congrats nexa and aleksib! They might be IGLs who play a constructed system instead of the "I want to do what I want" attitude preferred by m0nesy and niKo but still nexa and aleksib made it to major with a lot "lesser" teams. Nexa and aleksib were the problems etc

nexa did not play with monesy and he was doing fine with niko on the team and he did carry og to first ever major which aleksib couldnt do, dont compare one with another when 1 is doing fine with both rosters and other fails twice

+1 nexa was a good igl on g2, made it to many playoffs and finals without a proper awper, while aleksi was only good for 1 event

I dont know if you are very smart but of course nexa took G2 to more events, he spent almost 3 years there. Aleksib was there for 8 months. aleksib hate is more cringe than GIGACHAD hooXi meme

lets say the last 8 months nexa was in g2 and compare g2 performance (1-4th tier 1 events) nexa: PGL major 2nd IEM cologne 2021 2nd IEM summer 2021 3-4th BLAST spring final 2021 3rd aleksib: IEM katowice 2022 2nd BLAST spring final 2022 3-4th overall better results with nexa with amanek as an awper so yes nexa is better than aleksi

doesn't make sense to compare nexa's last 8 months after he has had 2 years to build chemistry and team strats etc. to alexsib's 8 months on the team flat
2022-10-08 17:33
Point being that both of them prefer a style where they have a lot of liberties to do as they wish. You can easily find the m0nesy interview here on hltv. I am still correct, m0nesy and niKo both want to play in a system that lets them do as they please and obviously it's not working. aleksib also took a FAR LESSER team to the major finals but because of obvious bias, you leave that one out. Both have led a team to major finals, nexa and aleksib.

but still u re incorrect, true both of them prefer a style where they have a lot of liberties, true that both aleksib and nexa have a system, but nexa did make it work in g2 unlike aleksib so he wasnt the problem in the first place and g2 didnt think of him as a problem, he just didnt want to igl in g2 anymore thats why they let him go, and i just compared that nexa did acomplish in og what aleksib couldnt, yes i left out nip of conversation, but how can i compare a team in which only aleksib did play and nexa didnt, what if u switched both atm and nexa would win t1 with nip, u never know

The major final that I spoke of was with the finnish ENCE back in 2018. They played in the finals against Astralis. What we can agree on is that aleksib and nexa are both good IGLs who can lead a team to majors.
2022-10-08 15:29
13 replies
yes they are but dont act like nexa couldnt make it work with "I want to do what I want" attitude, in that single comparasion u implied that he was a liability to g2 the same as aleksib was
2022-10-08 15:33

The organizations make the call whether or not they believe that IGLs can make it work. Unfortunately G2 chose wrong both times. I also believe that maLek had a positive influence on the team. It's all water under the bridge now and we should be happy for nexa and aleksib who got their redemption arcs
2022-10-08 15:37

wrong again, nexa didnt want to igl in g2(the real reason is not known, maybe he had personality clash with some1, maybe the coach, or niko like all haters prob gonna say, we cant know since ppl on the team dont talk about it or just maybe he had clash with the org, managment and thats why he didnt want to igl), he wasnt bench based of his performance he was bench because g2 needed the igl and he didnt want to be the one, so how is this a wrong call by the organization when he literally didnt want to do it? unless u wanna tell me g2 were doing fine with aleksib and had a shot with that lineup to win t1, then sure it was a bad call by g2 to bench aleksib, but thats not what i believe

Nexa wasnt doing fine, he had many years without a Trophy on g2 Nexas og isnt aleksibs og. Almost no players are the same, they also qualified with aleksib but the major was cancelled, also peaked at like #3-4 at some point with the squad

but nexa didnt have m0nesy and jks he played with amanek a guy who isnt even an awp and jackz who wasnt the best anchor. i do think nexa with m0nesy and jks would be the best g2 but it doesnt matter now. aleksis og was also very different this is true. overall i think both aleksi and nexa are great igls. win for og and win for nip

yes exactly this is also why i think g2 would have been best with nexa and m0nesy because of his more loose style while aleksi likes to play way more strict and it seems like a perfect fit for nip. I wish them both playoffs!
2022-10-08 17:21
They qualified with Aleksi, but the major was cancelled due to corona. Also the OG roster Aleksi had was arguably much worse on paper. There were no 1.2 rated awper superstar, there was the guy who got kicked for him.
2022-10-08 15:40

fair play but the other point still stands and degster since he joined og doesnt play like a 1,2 rated awper, but still he was barely better than mantuu only based on rating of course, f1ku and neofrag are just bad u cant prove me otherwise, and aleksib had valde who coming to og was getting back to his prime position on which he was a beast in north and overall he did well for og and the last player worth mentioning was nbk, as much i dislike him, cmon he is one of the best players to finish ur lineup with, good at supporting, secondary igling, a lot of experience which btw new og seems to lack

Nbk was shit and issa was dumb af
2022-10-08 16:02

ye sure issa was dumb af, but still if u compare all players on the lineup, excluding of course igls with each other, 2 worst players then on old og, any day i would take issa and nbk over neofrag and f1ku since even dumb issa is better rating wise than both neofrag and f1ku, and even nbk had better rating than neofrag on og, flamez and valde both have literally the same rating while being on og and degster has like 0,02 rating points higher than mantuu, so u have 2 players in old lineup better 1 tie and 1 worst, so how is the new lineup better
2022-10-08 16:10

Agree with nbk being some kind of glue guy, even with the chemistry issues he seems to have in every lineup.

Literally 2 of their player never played close to t1-t2 and are underperforming, degster not performing while still playing only for frags. And they still qualified. They have good igl and the chemistry isnt bad

OG used to be great strats with questionable firepower, now they are decent strats with great firepower. Replacing mantuu with degster is just an insane upgrade, but also fiku and neofrag are great upgrade over the danes. Already good enough to be a dark horse in the major.
