Anubis and weapon changes to feature at BLAST Premier World Final
The World Final teams will have the next three weeks to prepare a new map pool and adjust to the recent AWP and M4A1-S changes.
BLAST has confirmed to HLTV.org that the BLAST Premier World Final will be played on the latest CS:GO version, which reduced the M4A1-S' damage at range and the AWP's magazine size and replaced Dust2 with Anubis in the Active Duty map pool.
The news comes just over three weeks before the $1,000,000 competition begins, taking place on December 14-18 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The tournament organizer previously revealed that this week's BLAST Premier Fall Final, set to run from November 23-27, will run on the previous version — with Dust2 still in the map pool and the M4A1-S and AWP unchanged.
With no other big event scheduled before the end of the year, that means the World Final will be the first to feature the weapon changes and potentially the first to see Anubis played among top teams.
FaZe, Natus Vincere, Vitality, and Outsiders are currently qualified for the World Final following triumphs at ESL Pro League Season 15, BLAST Premier Spring Final, ESL Pro League Season 16, and the IEM Rio Major.
They will be joined by the winner of this week's BLAST Premier Fall Final and three teams from the BLAST Leaderboard — or four in case one of the teams who had already qualified for Abu Dhabi wins the Fall Final (FaZe or NAVI).
