broky claims BLAST Premier Fall Final MVP award

The Latvian sniper heads home with the accolade despite FaZe's runner-up finish.

Helvijs "broky" Saukants has been crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the BLAST Premier Fall Final by HLTV.org and 1xBet, earning his second-career award after being a pivotal force in FaZe's run in Denmark throughout the group stage and in the playoffs.

The 21-year-old showed renewed form throughout the Fall Final, averaging a 1.29 rating over the ten maps played by the European team.

Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, Martin "stavn" Lund, and Håvard "rain" Nygaard were trailing behind broky for medal contention heading into the final, and the Latvian didn't let his lead slip by maintaining his form in the final series of the tournament, with a strong showing from Robin "ropz" Kool not being enough to usurp his teammate from the top spot.

broky adds a second MVP award to his cabinet after earning his first at IEM Katowice

broky particularly stood out in FaZe's opening series against OG (1.55 rating) and in the playoffs against Ninjas in Pyjamas (1.30 rating), but also found crucial impact with key clutch rounds and round-defining plays across the board to help FaZe on the way to a second place finish. Ultimately, his abilities didn't prove to be enough to overcome Heroic in the title-decider, but thanks to the even-spread of output from the Danish team, broky still came out ahead in the MVP race.

broky ended up at the top of a number of crucial statistic categories on the leaderboard, including K-D differential (+72), kills per round (0.86), and 1+ kill rounds (55.8%). He also placed among the top five for damage per round (82.8, #5), deaths per round (0.59, tied #2), KAST (76.6%, #2), clutches won (8, #2), and impact rating (1.25, #4).

Twistzz deffo deserved Cologne and the gap between him and s1mple was lower than Brokys / Stavn. Twistzz also popped off in finals so i don't get how he didn't get mvp.

2022-11-28 00:24
I personally don't think losing team players should get mvp. Rating in playoffs should also have twice the weighting of group stage rating, imo
2022-11-28 02:18
Stavn has been putting up numbers the whole series basically. So, he definitely deserved it, but there are obviously others that deserved it as well. Broky for an example.

Yeah but there are many pros who wouldn't want to win an MVP award if they were outperformed by mutliple players and it was only because they won the last match which has been said before

MVP when you lost is such a slap to the face. It is more like "I tried so hard to win but my team sucked and we lost".

They took the deciding map of the grand final to OT and you think they suck, righto.
2022-11-28 01:34
And you think mvp for winning the event isnt the slap to the face? “Everyone played better than me, but we won as a team so i get the mvp out of pity”.
2022-11-28 04:58
Wow so important kills and very nice kd, especially when he saved awp in toilets was so crucial

Still strange that Pinnacle A tournament gets a MVP and Elisa Cup Finals didnt. Same A tier class. HLTV is odd for sure. And another fact: only showing S tier tournament wins in achievements is overly critical and toxic as well. Liquipedia handles this better.

That’s the rules of HLTV I would not agree with then. It was a A tier tournament, it was not easy to win for Fnatic, it deserves a MVP. HLTV handles some things really strange, and then there is the problem with the rankings itself, which are too biased of the recent months, and not at least 6-12 months. There’s multiple things that could be better handled. FaZe is surely higher weighted than just Top 10, it’s pretty obvious Faze is at least 3rd best team in the world right now, not 8 or whatever they are in the hltv rankings. ESL rankings make more sense since they aren’t so harsh, and more based on a proper elo system.
2022-11-28 00:42
hltv.org/events/6018/v4-future-sports-fe.. tier 3 tournament V4 didnt have 2 top 10 teams, but they still give MVP
2022-11-28 05:54

Then it's 2 top 15 and having one included in the top 10. Was something like that i believe. I'm 100% sure you gotta have a team on the top 10. And in that tournament u had none.

Good. This should have went another map after faze beat them on NEUTRAL ground like 16-5 on map 2 to 0 in the same damn tournament. Weird way for a team to be claimed "Best" on home turf after losing more rounds and having the same map wins against each other in the tournament,

its b-shit just give mvp to another awper like srsly its so rdcls to give those medals to awpers especially when he misses half of the shots on overpass for example still mvp of the tournament like its way harder to be impactful with a rifle still you give those medals to awpers insane how you really don't appreciate the game only flicks and sh1t
