NKT revamp roster with BnTeT, Senzu

The international Asian team now once again fields a full roster.

NKT have revamped their roster with the signings of Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand and Munkhbold "Senzu" Azbayar, the organization announced on Saturday.

The incoming duo will replace Krit "Kntz" Chaiprasit and Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold on the active roster. NKT has now replaced four members in under six months, leaving Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee as the only player to keep his place on the lineup from the first half of the year.

The changes come after NKT's failure in both the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Asia Closed Qualifier, where they placed second after a loss to IHC, and a disappointing 4th place finish in ESL Challenger League Season 42 Asia-Pacific.

BnTeT will remain in the Asian scene

BnTeT is the poster boy of Asian Counter-Strike, making his name throughout his first stint in TYLOO during 2017-2020. His performances earned him a move to first Gen.G and later EXTREMUM, but both teams failed to reach the heights expected of them. He then returned to Asia for a second stint in TYLOO earlier this year but ended up being released in September. The Indonesian rifler was then on the lookout for a new team and recently tried out for Apeks as IGL, but has now found a permanent home back in his home region.

Senzu joins the team from Mazaalai after completing a month-long trial. The 16-year-old was Mazaalai's highest-rated player with a 1.08 rating in ESL Challenger League Season 42 Asia-Pacific, despite the Mongolian team not winning a map in the tournament.

With the move, NKT will hope to once again contend for the No. 1 spot in Asia after recently falling behind the likes of IHC and Wings Up.

NKT's roster is now:

Mongolia Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga
Korea Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee
Mongolia Yesuntumur "nin9" Gantulga
Mongolia Munkhbold "Senzu" Azbayar
Indonesia Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand

He will have more chance to participate in T1 tournament with one of the best asian team than with a T2/T3 EU one (no chance for a T1 tbh).

Why ruin your career playing for teams that will never even crack the top 20 let alone make playoffs at a major? He's been one of the most consistent IGL's in CSGO history -karrigan -nitr0 -JT -neaLaN -HooXi he could literally make almost any team better and yet he always chooses mediocracy lol
2022-12-03 15:28

I doubt that he does get as many offers as you think. In the end, his time in Gen G/EXTREMUM were not that impressive imo, and that was his big break in international competition. Plus after that his project with TyLoo was a failure as well. His stock currently isn’t very high imo

He's a strong fragging IGL and you don't think he recieved offers?
2022-12-03 15:32
1 reply
He was those things and he was given his shot with Gen G/Extremum. That didn’t end up working too well. Plus I do think that the spotlight isn’t as much on Asian players doing well than it is on Europeans when considering players for rostermoves. Sure, he might have had more offers from teams in the level of Apeks, but that’s not necessarily going to be a T1 opportunity.

I’m not saying that he doesn’t deserve chances in higher tier CS, but I do doubt that he is being offered them just based on him being a good fragging IGL, when he doesn’t have a good track record of making his teams succesfull in the recent times.

it seems to me that NKT have been trying to produce a superteam for a while, and it's always been failing. they would always come up like 2nd or 3rd place to tyloo and vici (the old rare atom core). I don't know which are the best asian teams nowadays, but I'm not really surprised if NKT as an organization continue to produce teams that are less than the sum of their parts
