ESL announce IEM Brazil and qualifier dates
The Brazilian event will take place in the slot previously reserved for IEM Spring in April.
ESL has officially announced their new addition to the CS:GO calendar with IEM Brazil 2023, the latest ESL Pro Tour event with a $250,000 up for grabs. The tournament will take place between April 17-23 and will host 16 teams in the South American country competing for the lion's share of the prize pool and a notch in the Intel Grand Slam belt.
The tournament organizer has also announced the dates for the open and closed qualifiers which will allow five teams from four different regions (Europe, North America, South America, and Asia) to reach the event while the remaining 11 squads will be directly invited by ESL.

ESL announced their plans to host a Brazilian tournament ahead of the IEM Rio Major final, but gave no further details on the event's location or dates. Reports from ge, meanwhile, pointed at an April return to Rio de Janeiro aligned to the previously announced IEM Spring.
IEM Brazil will begin just two weeks after ESL Pro League Season 17's conclusion in Malta and will end two weeks before the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

The qualifiers will take place on ESEA between January 21-February 16 across four different regions and will allow five teams to reach the Brazilian tournament. Two qualifying spots have been reserved for European teams while North America, South America, and Asia will only receive one each.
