FaZe are scrambling to find a replacement for Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard at the last minute after BLAST allegedly overturned their decision to accept their request to use Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke.

Update 12:25 : BLAST comments on the decision

BLAST has given HLTV.org the following comment: "FaZe have requested the use of k0nfig as an emergency substitution for the Spring Groups. This request to use k0nfig as an emergency substitution for the Spring Groups has been denied as he is registered on another team's roster for this event. The request for an emergency substitution has been accepted as they only have four players currently available in Denmark. An update on the substitute will be made as soon as we have it."

The organizers have not confirmed nor denied that they had originally accepted FaZe's proposal to use k0nfig at the tournament, and did not explain why the decision was overturned, if so.

BLAST has denied FaZe's request to play with k0nfig at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals Groups as a replacement for rain, a Dexerto report says and Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken confirmed on Twitter.

According to Twistzz, the change had been allowed by BLAST "for some time" before "suddenly overnight everything changed." k0nfig was present with FaZe at the venue and in their practice room, HLTV.org can confirm.

The change, which was requested after rain decided to skip the tournament in the anticipation of the birth of his child, was denied after the proposition met some resistance from other BLAST teams.

It was denied after k0nfig had been listed as Heroic's substitute. FaZe, who submitted Olof "⁠olofmeister⁠" Kajbjer as their substitute, have reportedly been allowed to register a different player who does not feature on another team's roster instead.

While streaming, olofmeister has said he can't step in, as he is traveling in the upcoming weekend. "I didn't even know I was a substitute for BLAST, I think they just put me on there not really thinking, to be honest," he said.

k0nfig didn't know he was subbed by Heroic. And the key difference here is that olof is still under contract with FaZe, unlike k0nfig. If you look at the rules, FaZe did nothing wrong. They had a sub listed that couldn't play so they went for an emergency sub which was agreed by BLAST. And then BLAST overruled that decision, how tf is this FaZe's fault?

I mean it's kind of shitty of BLAST to give the green light to use k0nfig days in advance and then 24h before give them the red light because other teams are complaining, like that's a very short stint to try and find a proper stand-in and not very professional of the TO. I guess the other teams are happy though cause this might mean FaZe will drop out if they can't find someone.

Yeah I just read the dexerto article, if that's all true then Blast really messed this up. There's no way a player should be able to be listed without confirming and then be held to it as if it's some kind of agreement.

Honestly I think they should be disqualified. 1. They knew rain is having a baby soon, I don't believe it was yesterday that he said that he decided to skip blast out of the blue. They had their time to find a replacement. 2. They fucked up with olofmeister as a substitute, not even letting him know. 3. They fucked up trying to get k0nfig knowing that he is already registered for another team. It's only FaZe's fault. But I guess since this is a fucking partnership kind of tournament they will let it slide.

They had time and they informed blast 5 days ago and blast accepted placing k0nfig in faze roster 2.BLAST fucked up, k0nfig also didnt know he was on heroic sub list, heroic wanted natosaphix as their sub.
