MarKE returns to competition with Nouns

The Mexican rifler has found a permanent home for the first time since parting ways with Extra Salt in January 2022.

Nouns have announced the addition of Edgar "⁠MarKE⁠" Maldonado to their starting lineup. The Mexican has been brought on as a replacement for Bobby "⁠stamina⁠" Eitrem, who recently departed the squad after just two months at the helm.

The move confirms a prior report from Dust2.us, which pointed out that the 24-year-old had been seen practicing with the North American roster in the wake of stamina's benching.

Nouns is MarKE's first full-time team in over 12 months

MarKE has quite the résumé within North American Counter-Strike whilst representing notable teams such as Chaos and Extra Salt, but he eventually took a step back from competition when he was left on the sidelines in Complexity's acquisition of Extra Salt in January 2022.

The 24-year-old not joining Complexity gave way to a relatively quiet 2022 as he made limited stand-in appearances throughout the year. He helped out the likes of Mythic and Billionaires, which featured his now teammates of Christopher "⁠cJ⁠" Jones and Carson "⁠nosraC⁠" O'Reilly, in a handful of domestic competitions.

MarKE also helped out Nouns at the start of 2023, stepping in for Brendan "⁠Bwills⁠" Williams in a first-place run through ESEA Winter Cash Cup 2, where the Mexican rifler posted a healthy 1.24 rating across five maps.

Nouns will be counting on their new addition to power the team in their return to the Regional Major Ranking tournament. The squad narrowly missed out on an IEM Rio Major berth after falling to Imperial in the do-or-die matchup of the 2-2 pool.

"Basically I was bored, every time I would play CS with friends I felt that fire to start grinding again and compete," MarKE said in a comment to Dust2.us. "[I've] been out of the servers for a while so all I want right now is to grind and do some damage, qualify for everything possible, win everything we can and let's see where life takes us."

Everything you said is wrong, which honestly is impressive, there is no swole patrol on valorant and never has been, zellsis has always had teams, thats a co-relation made with the csgo team Swole Patrol, which has never been on valorant on any capacity. He hasnt even streamed valorant, and all the time between chaos and this team he has been: a) practicing and subbing in with other NA CS teams. b) Grinding csgo ladders. c) playing with friends (csgo). So yeah pretty much you are just clueless.

Wow it's been a year already since coL acquired Extra Salt, that's incredible how fast the time goes. I remember MarKE was really good in this Extra Salt team, I was surprised they didn't sign him to coL aswell tbh., good to see him back, hopefully he still has it after year of being inactive on the scene.
