paiN, Complexity qualify for BLAST Paris Major Americas RMR

The Brazilian and North American rosters went undefeated in the closed qualifier to progress to the RMR in Mexico.

paiN and Complexity earned their place at the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR after putting up unblemished 3-0 records in the North American closed qualifier.

The two rosters will now look forward to their trip to Monterrey, Mexico, where they will fight through the Major-qualifying event from April 5-9 in a bid to clinch one of five berths to the Major in Paris.

paiN wasted little time in realizing their RMR aspirations, moving past timbermen with ease, 2-0. The Brazilian roster struck first with a 16-12 scoreline on their opponents' pick of Mirage to lead in the series, with the side going on to close things out following a comfortable 16-8 showing on their map choice of Vertigo.

Complexity, however, had to fight a little bit harder versus MIBR to punch their ticket to the LAN event in Mexico. The North American roster's decision to float Anubis once again backfired — the third time in the past three days — as the squad suffered a 10-16 defeat before completing the reverse sweep with a confident 16-5 display on Nuke and a comfortable 16-10 scoreline on Ancient.

The North American closed qualifier has also already seen its first set of eliminations, with Noah "⁠Nifty⁠" Francis' 4ORMULA and REIGN both crashing out of the competition after posting 0-3 records.

A further five teams will qualify for the RMR in Mexico by the end of the North American closed qualifier on February 19. Those triumphant squads will be joined by seven squads from the South American closed qualifier as well as FURIA and Liquid, who received invites to the Major-qualifying competition thanks to their Legends Stage finishes at the IEM Rio Major back in November.
