Nakama part ways with SmithZz and day0s
The French lineup is down to three players after less than two months together.
Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux and Paul "day0s" Niel are no longer part of Nakama' starting roster, the team has announced. The French squad lasted a little over a month before their first roster changes due to their failure to qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major Europe RMR earlier in February.
The squad was eliminated in the open qualifiers for the Regional Major Ranking event and ended up as France's most notable absence from the list, while teams such as HEET, LDLC, and Falcons all made it to the closed qualifiers.

SmithZz was never supposed to be a permanent addition to the squad as he stated during the Nakama's announcement stream. He was instead looking to inject more experience and leadership into the lineup before taking the step up to a managerial role. Meanwhile, day0s's departure came as a result of him not working out within the lineup. He was picked up due to his achievements in the FACEIT global ladder, but failed to gel with the team during their short time together.

"I couldn't adapt myself to this team gameplay that we brought in," read day0s's statement on Twitter. "I wasn't aware enough of how difficult it would be to adapt my own gameplay to a team within little time. I'm still happy that I had the chance to play with two legends, and two youngsters that might become legends."
Now Nakama are left with Richard "shox" Papillon and the two youngsters Ryan "Neityu" Aubry and Jeremy "Kursy" Gast while the team is "evaluating various possibilities for the future." They must find a solution in the coming days as the French squad is set to compete at the ESL Championnat National Spring 2023 in March alongside compatriots such as Falcons, HEET, and GenOne.
Nakama are now just:
Richard "shox" Papillon
Jeremy "Kursy" Gast
Ryan "Neityu" Aubry
Boris "flex0r" Latry (coach)
