GUILD enter CS:GO with ESL Impact team

The UK-based organization, co-owned by David Beckham, makes its first foray into Counter-Strike.

GUILD have announced they have signed a women's roster, picking up the OUTCASTS lineup that qualified for ESL Impact Season 3 Europe.

Three of the squad have a shared history in GODSENT fe, namely Marita "Minnie" Siljan Sørensen, Thea "pullox" Evensen and Anna "Ann4" Laurinoviča. The trio played together in 2022, although Minnie and pullox represented NIP Impact together more recently before being benched by the Ninjas in January. Kaia "KiKi" Holmen briefly represented Ambush fe and SUL before forming up with the aforementioned trio.

The team's captain, KiKi, represented Saints at ESL Impact Katowice

The move represents the second major esports organization investing in an ESL Impact team in recent times, with the news of G2 Oya’s formation announced on March 7. GUILD are represented across multiple esports, most notably Valorant, and were the first esports organization to be publicly traded in the UK.

"We intend to compete at the highest levels of Counter-Strike and GUILD is the perfect place to achieve this," team captain KiKi said in a statement. "With leading facilities, high-quality coaching staff and a state-of-the-art headquarters, GUILD gives us the opportunity to learn and grow as a team in a supportive environment."

The roster will debut for GUILD when they kick off their ESL Impact Season 3 campaign on March 8 against Angels. They will also have to face off against the likes of NAVI Javelins and G2 Oya in Group B, and will need to place at least top-two in the group to have a chance to qualify for the LAN finals.

The GUILD lineup is:

Latvia Anna "Ann4" Laurinoviča
Norway Kaia "KiKi" Holmen
Norway Marita "Minnie" Siljan Sørensen
Norway Thea "pullox" Evensen
Sweden Linnea "Nea" Claesson

Gz to these women. Playing CS for living, or just part time, it's a dream for many here. I would have left out the David Beckham angle out, but I guess it brings the article closer to more audience

cool, it seems the women scene is really developing. hopefully we get to see some of them in t3 tournaments, that would be really cool, and even if they lose its valuable training to make a potential t1 fe team

Well, nigma galaxy faced a tier 3 male team, and they got stomped

Well, they need to get stomped more! ;) There are fe players who have enough raw aim to be able to beat t2 pros in 1v1s, so the issue is obviously strats. If you play vs the same opponents all the time, ofc you won’t improve! Put a silver in dmg lobbies, of course he will get stomped but after dozens of matches and training he will be way better than even gold novas, for example

no disrespect, but its not worth investing in the fe scene when the viewers are soo low all the time

It's unlikely viewership will improve without the quality of their teams improving, so it's kind of a moot point.

Best female team (Nigma Galaxy) struggle in Esea Main and they didn't even face any opponents with name or hltv. They won against Dusty, but it's like tier 4-5 team i guess, they are not even top 1 in Iceland rn, in Iceland bro. Just check their Esea page they are literally losing 16-2, 16-4 to faceit lvl 10 friends. Its impossible that female team will compete in t3

first you would need individuals playing in t3 counterstrike, then if there was 5 of them and they would group up, theoritically they should hold up to some level, but you cant expect current female team doing so when there isnt even a single one yet playing at that level. And thats fine, they should be playing on their level, which right now is Impact league or very low open divisions.
2023-03-08 14:06
It’s not impossible imo

xD
2023-03-08 13:28
hltv.org/matches/2358777/nigma-galaxy-vs.. this was the best fe team's closest match vs a tier 4 male team in hltv. not ready for tier 3 and these games will 100% not train them for tier 1
2023-03-08 13:59

No shit. Before getting into t1 you need to beat t4 But if they play more they will obviously improve, that’s why some NA/Asia move to EU. You practice vs better opponents instead of always the same ones
2023-03-08 15:27
They can't get in those tournaments, people really don't understand how competitive tier 3 is, these fe teams struggle against lvl 10 mixes, they get stomped on any open qual. I would say the gap is as big as a silver playing against lvl 10s.

these girls have 2100 elo on Faceit. And that is 2100 elo where they have been obviously carried by 1.2kd 3000 elo men. I mean an average male player can get 2100 elo with less than 100hrs lifetime played. It's hilarious
