TheMongolz secure third consecutive Major appearance

The same two teams have qualified for three Majors in a row from the Asia RMR as TheMongolz join Grayhound in Paris.

TheMongolz have secured the second Asian spot in the BLAST.tv Paris Major Challengers Stage following a 2-0 win over Rare Atom in the consolidation final of the tournament.

TheMongolz have joined Grayhound as the first team who qualified from the Asia-Pacific region, as well as eight other teams from the now concluded Europe A RMR and two from the still ongoing Americas RMR, which is heading into the final day of play.

TheMongolz placed second at the Asia RMR in their debut with hasteka

The updated list of teams qualified for the BLAST.tv Paris Major, taking place on May 8-21, looks as follows:

The Mongolians are set to make their third consecutive Major appearance in Paris after previously representing IHC in PGL Major Antwerp and IEM Rio Major in 2022.

Going into the current Major cycle, the team around Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren decided at the last minute to depart their former organization and donned the iconic TheMongolz tag.

Under the new name, TheMongolz went into the qualifier fresh off the swap of Tengis "sk0R" Batjargal for Chinguun "hasteka" Bayarmaa. The move came as a surprise to many following IHC's successes earlier in the year and created question marks surrounding the team's form heading into the RMR, in which they were about to play with the new player for the first time.

The team succeeded after four days of play as they beat Twisted Minds and Rare Atom twice en route to a spot at the Paris Major, only losing to Grayhound in their first attempt to qualify. hasteka averaged a middling 0.95 rating at the tournament.

everyone does, but they have to win in order to be there. If the current major champions and current IGS champions cant beat ITB or BNE and dont qualify because of that then it is deserved

youre overreacting as most people here do... you dont even know how many "important" teams will miss out, first wait and we can talk later. Many of these "important" teams have too many issues and cant keep up with the level of a major, its their own fault Cadian described it pretty well, too many tier 1 teams played the RMR with a terrible mindset of "not losing" instead of "lets destroy".

indeed it would have been great. the thing 2 slots from asia is a joke. asian stars who are much better than most of the na/and eu teams deserves 4 slots at minimum.

Rare atom needs consistent. They seem to be able to beat anyone but lose to anyone
2023-04-10 08:16
Well how about this Kaze and moseyuh got covid 5 out of 3 of their matches encounter tech delay while IHc none, each lasted more then an hour, while kaze and moseyuh are still vivid positive and even used up cooling tape 12 hour rest time before second bo3 while IHC got a whole damn day Sudden change of schedule (early by one hour) for RA and IHC game I am sure that, not even RA, even prime astralis/fnatic/NaVi/FaZe will not pass this. Even with the combination of prime s1mple+Zywoo+gla1ve+cold +olof , won’t get pass this They are SO GOOD that they manage a 11-16 first map.

Yeah, I feel like Advent has to go at this point. Every game is a 4v5, and I get that he's the IGL but it's not like RA has any crazy strats. Best case scenario is that GOAT somebody comes out of retirement to take over as IGL but that's never going to happen, and CNCS does severely lack IGLs. But holy shit advent can't shoot for shit.

I admit that TheMongolz deserves this spot, they played really well in lower bracket final. But MESA, the host of Asia RMR, makes us really angry. Everything they did makes us doubt that MESA was deliberately targeting other teams.

Rare atom are treated unfairly through out the RMR, which playing three BO3 with totally no rest hour because the "tricky" server problem. I can admit that Mongoloz have better skills. But some thing like this happen, it is a shame for MESA

imo it would be hard for RA to beat mongolz even if they have better conditon, but yeah mesa should be blacklisted from cs tournaments in the future
