Techno on hasteka: "People don't know how good he is"
The Mongolian rifler spoke about TheMongolz's run at the Asia RMR following their qualification for the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
TheMongolz finished in second place at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Asia RMR, only behind Grayhound due to their loss against the Australian squad in the upper bracket final. Their performance at the event was nonetheless impressive as they beat Rare Atom twice on their way to a qualification spot at the Major.

Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold was the standout player for the Mongolian side and averaged a 1.24 rating across seven maps played, ending the event as the third highest-rated player behind Shuaib "D0cC" Ahmad and Joshua "INS" Potter. The 17-year-old briefly sat down with HLTV after their last match to talk about their run and the newest member of the squad, Chinguun "hasteka" Bayarmaa.
Congratulations on making it to the Major, you had to do it the hard way through the lower bracket. How do you feel to finally make it?
I am feeling really happy now and so are all of my team members. We lost the upper bracket final to Grayhound and we felt so confused, and we watched our game back to find and fix our mistakes, so to not make them again against Rare Atom.
Was it hard to play a second best-of-three series on the same day?
We were tired because we woke up so early, played three maps, and waited for the next match to start. I was so tired, but we made it.
Did you want to see Twisted Minds or Rare Atom as your opponents?
Honestly, I thought that Rare Atom would have won because they are so good in Asia.
You personally put out some amazing performances at the RMR. You had a 1.24 rating and were the third-highest-rated player at this event. How did you do it? and did it help to be in Mongolia?
It's an advantage for us [to be in Mongolia] because we didn't have any sleep problems and no jetlag.
Has hasteka been good enough, in your opinion? Or is there still room to improve for him?
He was our former teammate and he is really good. People don't know how good he is, I think he has to fix some things, but he will be great.
Some people criticized the new roster with hasteka, does it feel good to prove them wrong?
I think so, he's really happy now. He's always reading the comment section, but he doesn't care.
Do you think you'll be able to improve your result at the Paris Major compared to IEM Rio?
I think so yeah. We will be good and bring a better performance than from the Rio Major.
