kennyS announces retirement from competition
The French AWPer hangs up the mouse after a decade-long career.
Kenny "kennyS" Schrub took the stage at the Accor Arena to address the French crowd and announce his retirement from competitive Counter-Strike. He leaves Global Offensive as one of the game's most recognizable AWPers with 11 LAN trophies and a Major winner's medal to his name.
The French marksman steps down from competition after more than 10 years in the Counter-Strike scene, with a career spanning Source and Global Offensive. His performances throughout the first years of CS:GO earned him worldwide recognition thanks to his hyper-aggressive style and lighting-fast reactions.

kennyS rose to prominence with VeryGames when the French organization decided to make the transition from CS:S to CS:GO. The AWPer shared the stage with legends such as Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt as the squad initially trailed behind Ninjas in Pyjamas in the early stages of the game.
He eventually joined LDLC and later Titan, and it was with the latter organization that kennyS hit the highest peak of his career in terms of individual performance. He propelled his team to wins at ESWC France and DreamHack Stockholm CS:GO Invitational in 2014 in tournament runs full of highlight plays for the AWPer.

The sniper moved to Envy in 2015, and it was with the North American organization that kennyS was able to get his hands on a Major trophy at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, even claiming the MVP award at the event. That was the last time the Frenchman appeared in the top-four of a Valve-sponsored event.
His last notable stint in tier-one came in 2017 as G2 assembled a French "superteam" around the marksman alongside NBK-, Richard "shox" Papillon, Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro, and apEX. He spent four years with the organization and won two tournaments at ESL Pro League Season 5 Finals and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017, but was unable to reach the heights previously experienced with Envy.
kennyS remained with G2 even after their transition to a mixed European roster in 2019, but his eventual decline over the next few years resulted in his move to the bench in 2021. A short stint with Falcons followed, but it was abruptly ended after the team's failure to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major.

The 28-year-old icon leaves CS:GO with a resume very few can match with 11 LAN victories, 10 MVP awards, and a Major trophy to his name. kennyS was an instrumental piece in the golden age of French Counter-Strike and an inspiration for several of the AWPers currently operating in the scene.
