BLAST Paris Major showmatch rosters revealed

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, who participated in the IEM Rio Major showmatch in November, is set to join the server once more.

BLAST has announced the lineups for the upcoming showmatch between France and BLAST Dream Team, the latter of which was drafted by viewers at home.

The two squads' best-of-one bout will be played on stage in front of the Accor Arena, with the fixture, set to take place on Nuke, scheduled to begin at 15:00 ahead of the grand final between Vitality and GamerLegion.

A notable feature of the showmatch is that viewers are able to directly influence in-game settings via an online voting system. This includes halving the bomb timer from 40 seconds to just 20 seconds, introducing infinite grenades, and forcing the players to play with an inverted mouse setting.

GeT_RiGhT will play for the BLAST Dream Team ahead of the grand final

Cédric "RpK" Guipouy, who was announced as a member of France alongside Richard "shox" Papillon and Audric "JACKZ" Jug in a preview of the showmatch on BLAST's website, is set to return to the server for the first time in over two years. The Frenchman was benched from Vitality in April 2021, before going on to retire for the final time in September of that year.

Also joining the French-only roster is Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, who announced his retirement from competition on stage just before Vitality's semi-final affair versus Apeks on Saturday. The Frenchman leaves Counter-Strike with 11 LAN victories and a Major trophy, as well as being recognized as a top-20 player on five separate occasions.

Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev headlines the BLAST Dream Team, and the Ukrainian superstar was spotted in the crowd throughout Saturday's semi-finals. The 25-year-old narrowly missed out on a spot in the BLAST.tv Paris Major playoffs after Natus Vincere were defeated by FaZe in a hard-fought three-map series in the 2-2 pool of the Legends Stage.

GeT_RiGhT, who participated in the IEM Rio Major showmatch back in November, will once again take to the stage to help out the BLAST Dream Team. The international roster will be looking to upset the French crowd early ahead of Vitality and GamerLegion's grand final brawl at 17:00 .

France has the following roster:

France Richard "shox" Papillon
France Audric "JACKZ" Jug
France Cédric "RpK" Guipouy
France Kenny "kennyS" Schrub
France Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro

Whilst BLAST Dream Team consists of:

United Kingdom Owen "smooya" Butterfield
United Kingdom Cai "CYPHER" Watson
Sweden Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund
Ukraine Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev
Slovakia Martin "STYKO" Styk

I hope this comes with a big announcement for cs2 or something cuz otherwise is pretty boring lol. Dreamteam with smooya, s1mple and getright play every showmatch anyway, cypher and styko while i respect their run and had insane performances for a showmatch doesnt feel right either, inwpuldnt call bodyy a legend at the calibre of the other 4 french either
