MIBR bench Tuurtle, line up $280,000 bid for Lucaozy - Report

Fluxo look to keep their star amidst significant interest from several Brazilian teams.

Update 18:40 :
Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia has officially been benched from MIBR, the player revealed in a Tweet.

MIBR are seeking to buy Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves out of his contract with Fluxo, according to a report by Dust2 Brasil. Should the move come to fruition, the 21-year-old would replace Tuurtle on the roster.

Fluxo are looking to retain their biggest star, though, and have reportedly offered him a contract extension. "We aim to keep [Lucaozy] on the team," the organization said in a comment to Dust2 Brasil.

Several teams are reportedly targetting Lucaozy

The report states MIBR is one of several Brazilian organizations interested and that the Immortals Gaming Club-owned team lined up a hefty bid of around $280,000 for Lucaozy in their second attempt to get him to change jerseys since the beginning of the year.

The negotiations come at a time when many Brazilian teams are looking at potential improvements to their roster. Fluxo themselves recently placed Allan "history" Lawrenz on the sidelines after the AWPer requested to be benched in the aftermath of the team's last-place exit from the BLAST.tv Paris Major Challengers Stage. His replacement has not yet been announced.

Well the contract holders decide the value, a player is worth as much as the buyer is willing to pay really. Let's say I have a water bottle, since it's mine I can sell for as much as I want, doesn't mean someone will want it

Yeah I get the idea of discouraging people from buying your important players by setting buyouts that are JUST outside the range of what someone is willing to pay. Still crazy to me that Turtle is worth that much.

THIS is why Brazilian CS won't evolve All the orgs just hoard their players and put crazy buyouts for okay-ish players Keep in mind Copenhagen flames, back when they had HooXi, Nicoodoz, Roej, jabbi and zyphon, were unable to sell the WHOLE team for 100k !
2023-05-31 19:03

Brazil is the size of a continent, Denmark is the size of my city (not even 500k people here) Orgs here probably make more money since we have most of players/fans in the world.
2023-05-31 19:12
In Brazil we dont have many options of good players like in Europe. and this is why the "average" brazilian player have higher price than the "average" european player. And the high buyouts are good for the brazilian scene because this is a incentive for the smaller orgs to try to find and develop young players because they can make a lot of money selling those players. If the buyouts are too low the big orgs would just "steal" players from the smaller orgs all the time and eventually those smaller orgs would just go bankrupt.
2023-05-31 19:26
if they wanna pay it's because it's worth, brazil has 100 times more CS fans than Denmark. This brazilians team get amazing sponsors

guys, just to leave this out of me here. Brazilian Organizations are truly despiteful, how can these guys like lucaozy be worth 280, this does not make any sense. Best european pros are a lot less then this, br pros have insane evaluations just because their franchise does not want to lose them
2023-05-31 21:09
Lucaozy goat
2023-05-31 21:25
His career manager is a fucking god, since he is being sold as he is the next ropz or niko. Guy does nothing special at tier 1, inconsistent af. They should go after biguzera, it's a way smarter move. Solid rifler, decent igl.
2023-05-31 21:27
I mean, Lucaozy is a better player than Tuurtle, that's for sure, but the spots don't really fit, Lucaozy has star positons in Fluxo, Tuurtle was the more of an anchor on the CT side, I honestly didn't want MIBR to make any roster moves, I think they had a great lineup, I don't know how will it work with Lucaozy, but I think they're making changes to soon, I understand why, but honestly, I would just keep it as it was for the next season tbh.

same bro this line mibr had seemed so well balanced, they had a rough start but they were improving out of the spotlights. They absolutely dominated NA and managed to get an EPL spot twice and that Saudi tournment too. I thought it was a perfect start for the second semester. Also everyone there seemed to have 0 ego it was the only team I enjoyed watching really. Im legit sad
2023-05-31 22:45

Yeah, I really do believe this EPL season or this Saudi tournament could've been the breakout events for this lineup. I'm very sad to bro :(
2023-05-31 22:48

Yes i thought too they first started showing some glimpses of talent on big events but were very inconsistent. Then they took a step back and started farming NA and it seemed like they were improving a lot. They got the spots and the logical step would be to try again at big events see how that time in NA would pay off. It makes me mad because Tuurtle was the typical player that doesnt frag much but imo every great team needs this selfless player, like a defender in Football. This move seems like selling a great centerback and buying a expensive but unexperienced attacker
2023-05-31 22:55
1 reply
I think they could already have had a much better year if they had attended more events really, all those Partnership teams are kinda taking chances away from them. I agree with you.
2023-05-31 23:18
agree, that's why no BR team gets good, they keep changing their rosters all the time, this mibr was looking promising, I guess the fact that they didn't qualify for the major was a tipping point, but a lot of good teams couldn't qualify, not enough spots. I have a theory though that they are selling insani, that's why they are going for lucaozy to replace him, not turtle
2023-05-31 23:18
6 replies
I mean they already benched Tuurtle right? Also, if they're really offering 280K, I doubt they can get more than that for insani tbh., I don't think that's what they're doing.
2023-05-31 23:23
2 replies
I know they benched Tuurtle, but my guess is that they are getting someone else in his place, not Lucaozy. That's why I said they are probably selling insani and need someone for his role.
2023-06-01 02:05
1 reply
That would make more sense I guess, but still, selling insani doesn't make much sense to me, I would prefer insani over Lucaozy tbh.
2023-06-03 19:56
It wouldnt make sense to make changes because after not qualifying to Paris Major they started winning all games on NA and qualified for Pro League and that Saudi Championship. Honestly i think they may be selling Insani too, would make 0 sense to replace Tuurtle with Lucaozy it just seems so braindead. I was happy MIBR was out of the spotlight so annoying BR CS fans werent looking at them spreading toxicity. Now I'm just sad

2023-06-01 01:48
They've been winning games on NA since ever, they were already qualified for EPL before the major, qualifying for these tournaments is not that hard for mibr anyway, whatever the roster they have, they will still destroy these other NA teams, they are too weak, mibr is finally trying to become a top15 team now, cause they've been selling their players (jota, chelo) so they must have some money to invest now for CS2
