GamerLegion, Apeks join Gamers8 team list

Two of the top performers from the recent BLAST.tv Paris Major have received direct invites to the competition.

The $1,000,000 Gamers8 event has two more teams signed up to attend in the form of GamerLegion and Apeks. The two squads join a raft of top-tier sides, which with their additions includes nine of the current top 10 teams in the world ranking.

The LAN tournament, which is due to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on August 16-20, will feature sixteen teams from across the globe battling it out for the lion’s share of the impressive prize pool.

Many will be wondering if GamerLegion can maintain their level from the BLAST.tv Paris Major

GamerLegion and Apeks have received their invites in the wake of their immense performances at the BLAST.tv Paris Major. Apeks made it to top-four before they were bested by eventual winners Vitality, whilst GamerLegion battled all the way to the final before falling to the local favorites.

Every single one of the current top 10 sides in the world ranking will be in attendance at the tournament bar Monte, as will ENCE, who recently took the IEM Dallas title and will likely climb into the top 10 in the coming update.

fnatic and MIBR were the first two teams to qualify for the event, making their way through the European and North American qualifiers, respectively. There is one more qualification berth up for grabs, which will be decided July 11-12 in the second Europe open qualifier.
