FaZe dominate Astralis to set up Heroic rematch

Heroic and FaZe will clash in a Group B first-place decider in a rematch from the BLAST.tv Paris Major quarter-final.

FaZe passed their first test at the BLAST Premier Spring Final with flying colors as they outclassed Astralis in a 2-0 match, limiting the Danes to just 11 rounds across Overpass and Mirage.

Astralis have been sent to the Group B elimination series, where they will face off against Complexity on Thursday at 22:00 to determine who goes to the quarter-finals, before Heroic and FaZe clash in their rematch from the Major in the following match at 01:00 for a place in the semis.

Overpass had been a trusted pick for Astralis, who previously beat some big names on their home map in recent times such as ENCE and Liquid at IEM Dallas, but this time the Danes did not turn up to play. Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer and Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz had a very slow start to the series, and the AWPer put up his worst map since rejoining his old organization with a 5-17 score and 0.43 rating.

Without their two biggest stars Astralis got outclassed. FaZe limited them to five rounds on the offense with Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken's multikills at crucial points in the first half putting them in cruise control, and they remained there after switching to the Terrorist side themselves with a clean run.

Mirage looked like a more closely contested affair at first when Astralis proved more competitive on their CT side to start, until FaZe turned a 2v4 situation around in the 10th round and ran away with the rest of the half on the Terrorist side.

Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool closed the half with a 1v2 clutch and Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard's triple in the second pistol all but sealed the deal for FaZe, and the favorites cruised to another dominant finish on the second half.
