Apeks qualify for Elisa Masters Espoo 2023

Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski's men continue their strong run of form by qualifying for the $200,000 Finnish LAN.

Apeks have won Elisa Invitational Spring 2023 and qualified for the tournament organizer's Masters event in Espoo, joining GamerLegion on the team list after Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek's side secured their own spot at the tournament through the Winter Invitational.

kyxsan and company add to a string of strong results for themselves, already having followed up their top-four finish at the BLAST.tv Paris Major by winning ESL Challenger League Season 45 to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 18 and now qualifying for the LAN event in Finland.

Apeks started their campaign in the Spring Invitational from the Swiss group stage, going flawless with a 3-0 record with wins over HAVU, ENCE Academy, and ex-Copenhagen Flames to their name to make the bracket stage.

Apeks are through to Elisa Masters Espoo 2023

There, Apeks beat Sangal before matching up against Into the Breach, who had been invited directly to the top-eight stage. The British-European outfit faltered in a three-map seires to Martin "STYKO" Styk and company, who then went on to beat MOUZ 2-0 to make the grand final.

A rematch against ex-Copenhagen Flames ensued in the title decider, and this time around the Danish side put up a better face than they had during the group stage.

They managed to take a map off of Apeks in the series, but the victory came too late — the European combine started the series by narrowly edging out a 16-14 victory on their opponent's pick of Anubis, but couldn't close out Ancient, where ex-Copenhagen Flames secured victory 16-12.

Thomas "birdfromsky" Due-Frederiksen's men would lament not closing out their pick at the start of the series as it could have been a 2-0 win in their favor, but instead they were entirely outclassed on the Inferno decider as Apeks ran away with the map, 16-4.

I guess you can't lose a match to a lesser team anymore.

I guess you have to be NiP and go 87-0 in maps to be considered good and strong

kyxxan clearly the best roster change this year.. they looked so lost before he joined and now they have become really consistent. happy for jkaem and styko

+1 actually true. STYKO tried, shox tried and kyxsan SUCCEEDED. jL weakest link atm tho.

wasnt jl their best player at the major? i remember him and nawk winning multiple topclass clutches

yeah he isnt bad, but his stats against high ranked teams are pretty poor tbh, he's better in farming t2. didnt want to start a riot tho. i just think nawwk and jkaem are the biggest force for their push into T1.
2023-06-11 02:21
apparantly jL was pretty poor at the Major Paris as well: 11 maps, 0,94 rating. hltv.org/stats/players?event=6793 i kinda mentioned jL because i was looking at this earlier today: hltv.org/stats/players/19206/jl?startDat.. Its just not that impressive, its actually bad tbh. now i understand you can only kill 5 dudes every round, so when nawwk and jkaem are fragging, youre gonna have a harder time to get your rating. maybe jL doesnt have all the best roles, i havent done any further analysis in their team comp.

but no need to change a roster that is clearly working. they wont become a consistent toptier team anyway and if they keep on qualifying for big events and win some tier2 online events they should totally be fine

completely agree, but i kinda expect kyxsan to make a move during summer break, dont you?

hes relatively new to this level so it would be a stupid mistake to join the likes of g2 for example. he should just stay , get some experience and see how it goes

i kinda agree, but if i was him, and Mouz or OG would ask if interested, i would definitely sign if the rest of the team has similar potential as to Apeks. but i really love how APeks built their org, with kuben and the mix of talent and experience. they alrdyy had a decent fanbase in Paris too, so no shame in staying.

JL has noob positions at certain maps. Also he is very mood based he can easily drop 30 bomb on a map but then proceed to have 10 kills the next. So he needs to work on that. But overall he is probably a guy with the best raw aim and mechanics on the team

like i said, i dont think he's bad-bad, but his ratings seem pretty low. And being inconsistent is not a good thing. i like how apeks play now tho, it seems successful. personally i think jkaem is the best rifler on the squad tho.

jL said on one podcasts that jkaem plays in jL's best positions so there are many factors inside the teams that we dont know
2023-06-12 13:18
jL was best rated at RMR he was 7th overall or something like that. But he was kinda shit on legends stage
2023-06-11 10:58
Elisa Masters Espoo looking like a good t1 event with 2/4 of the top 4 teams rn!
