Astralis have officially announced the addition of Victor "Staehr" Staehr, a move which had previously been reported by HLTV, and on top of that have surprised with the signing of former Heroic, MAD Lions and Copenhagen Flames rifler Johannes "b0RUP" Borup.

Staehr's addition means gla1ve will be moved to the bench, as previously reported, and the Danish organization will try to find a new home for the veteran in-game leader, who will for the time being sit on the bench.
Astralis had been in pursuit of the 18-year-old for months, whom star AWPer Nicolai "device" Reedtz even called one of the best talents in Denmark in the past five years, and have finally put pen to paper after buying the player from Sprout.

The newcomer will take gla1ve's place in the starting five, which will shift in-game leadership roles to Benjamin "blameF" Bremer, while b0RUP will fill the shoes of Alexander "Altekz" Givskov, who will return to the Astralis Talent lineup. In turn, the youngster dropping back down to the academy team means Astralis veteran Xyp9x will be placed on the bench.
Astralis' roster changes come amid an organization-wide shakeup after sporting director Kasper Hvidt and head analyst Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen were let go due to fluctuating results not living up to the organization's ambitions.

Head coach Peter "casle" Ardenskjold, who will be assisted by former Talent coach Mathias "R0nic" Pinholt the coming season, had the following to say about the newcomers:
"I am extremely happy that we have agreed with Sprout on an immediate transfer of Staehr, who is undoubtedly one of the biggest Danish CS talents of the past 5 years. It's an open secret, we've had a good eye for him for a long time, and in terms of what we want with the team, he fits in perfectly. I am looking forward to working with him and helping him to really develop his potential further.
"In relation to b0RUP, he is a player we know well. He has been brought in for the specific role in the system we want to play and I expect him to contribute a lot to the team and his teammates. He is only 23, but he brings in a lot of useful experience, and with these 5 players on the roster, I have a strong belief, we have found a better balance in the team and a will come out with a lot of energy and firepower."
Astralis, a BLAST partner team, will thus kick off the coming season at the Premier Fall Groups on July 13 with their new roster.
