Official: NAVI announce international roster

The incoming trio signals the switch to an international roster for Natus Vincere.

Natus Vincere have announced the signings of Aleksi "⁠Aleksib⁠" Virolainen, Justinas "⁠jL⁠" Lekavicius, and Mihai "⁠iM⁠" Ivan, confirming the off-season rumors that they are moving away from the CIS region.

The Ukrainian organization has kept only Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev and Valeriy "⁠b1t⁠" Vakhovskiy from their previous roster, with Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi, Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov, and Ilya "⁠Perfecto⁠" Zalutskiy on the chopping block. The latter two have also recently been linked with a move to Cloud9, according to a report from Dexerto.

Aleksib returns to action in NAVI

Aleksib comes into the team after being recently removed from Ninjas in Pyjamas in favor of the returning Hampus "⁠hampus⁠" Poser. The Finnish IGL has experience leading international rosters, as he spent two years in OG before making the jump to G2, where he lasted just six months before getting removed.

His stint in Ninjas in Pyjamas also failed to give him the longevity he craved after the team went through several roster changes during his tenure before finding himself on the bench. The Finn now comes into another new European project, hoping to return to the level he showed in ENCE.

iM has been GamerLegion's highest-rated player throughout his tenure with a 1.14 rating, but his form took a massive upswing in 2023. The Romanian averaged a 1.19 rating and was the driving force behind their Major final appearance. He put up a 1.35 across the French Major and was in the running for the MVP until the final, which gave him an enormous boost in reputation that eventually culminated in him getting the call-up to Natus Vincere.

The Romanian was full of praise for GamerLegion and his ex-teammates on Twitter after his move. "I will always be grateful for what you did for me and I hope we will see each other again at other competitions or on the server," while going on to thank every individual in his farewell post.

The last piece of the puzzle is jL, another player who broke out during the BLAST.tv Paris Major. The Lithuanian joins the team from Apeks, where he averaged a 1.13 rating across 2023, with his performances at the Paris Major taking a dip as he only put up a 0.94 rating.

The new Natus Vincere roster is set to debut at BLAST Fall Groups set to take place from July 13-23, where they have been placed in Group B alongside BIG, Astralis, and Heroic.

They literally had their first decent results in major aftet their most recent change. It was a complete shitshow, but on major they met or exceeded all the reasonable expectations for the first time with that lineup. These are facts if you arent a delusional nip fan. Nip with hampus before device came was a consistent top 5 team, when Aleksib joined (the change didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now), the team were on a consistent downgrade, just because they have 1 event where they exceed expectations it means they are a good team? lol, wtf have you been smoking. 1. - They wanted to go international, so they went international. Therefore the language is given. 2. - A simple stylistic fit is enough, you don't need players to "fit the structure" when you are switching three players out of five. 3 - Obviously it will take time, but NaVi are known for having patience and trusting the process. They are also known for thinking in the long term. Boombl4 and Perfecto both needed a year, before the team go consistent with them. They also needed about 6 months with b1t. 3. - The fuck does Zelenskij have to do with any of this? They got rid of the players that can't speak English. Yes, they coincidentally are the Russian players, who gives a shit? s1mple needed this change to perform and be a good teammate and NaVi have rolled the dice. The miracle ENCE run is objectively his merit. He made OG into an actual team from a ragtag bunch of nobodies. Were they serious title contenders? No. Were they much better than they should have been? Yes. On G2, he finally had actual players to play with. Unfortunately, his style didn't fit the team and it was hard for him to adjust, because their coach at the time disagreed both with him and with NiKo on pretty much everything. He was picked up to lead the shittiest NiP roster to date. Don't tell me how REZ, brollan and k0nfig are somehow players to build a team upon with an 18 year-old AWP-er who is fresh our of the academy league. He needed more time on NiP and he needed k0nfig out. His style of calling matches the playstyle of NaVi and it matches with how b1ade sees the game. He is also known for incredible utility usage, which of course passes by most HLTV users. I don't get the hype either, he is not karrigan or Snappi, but he is a good pickup for NaVi, I hope they stay patient and diligent.

Certainly makes a pretty big difference when you have tournament MVP JKS put up a 1.20 rating performance in Katowice finals vs when you have Jackz pull a 0.78 rating in the same grand final a year prior to that. I'm not sure if Aleksi is that great of an IGL but Hooxi most definitely isn't, although he is a better fit for G2.

Everything has been said about G2 so need to regurgitate. Regarding Navi, Aleksi fits better in this team + for the first time since Ence he's going to play with an experienced and strong awper who will help call mid-rounds. Remains to be be seen how well he'll mash with simple. However, CS2 is a major question mark. Aleksi's map pool is absolute trash and it's not going to get much better with every map receiving slight updates. As a basic rule of thumb, the newer the map the worse this guy is at it.

Honestly Idk about this. jL is not great, a decent addition, but he’s going to be filling perfecto’s shoes, and I dont think jL is anywhere near perfecto. iM is awesome, not much else to say. But imo aleksi is straight up just the wrong person to have on the team. 0 success since ence and waaaaay worse rifle than electronic. His calling was the single deciding factor that lost them ancient vs apeks on the major. Yes, he is awesome at building structure, but is structure something navi lacks? I dont think so, they have b1ad3 for that. Guess we’ll see but I dont expect much from this lineup personally

it is not gonna work. after 4-5 months they are going to do roster changes which means at least 10 months wasted (it will take couple of months for the second roster changes to work). if the second roster doesnt work, it is just eternal fire loop at that point. at least 1 year from s1mple's career is gone now. he is done. unless he leaves NaVi and joins a full CIS team again.
