Into the Breach appoint trace as head coach
The former Astralis coach enters a new chapter of his career with Into the Breach.

Into the Breach have announced the signing of Martin "trace" Heldt as the team's new head coach. The 33-year-old takes over the spot vacated by Gustavo "Juve" Alexandre, who recently stepped down from the roster to take a break from competition.

The news comes after a turbulent period for Into the Breach after their surprising run at the BLAST.tv Paris Major. The team lost Sebastian "volt" Maloș, who went on to join GamerLegion, and Cai "CYPHER" Watson, who has been linked with TSM.
The organization replaced the duo with Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras and Adam "NEOFRAG" Zouhar, but the Czech rifler has already found himself out of the team due to "comments and perspectives displayed which do not align with the organizations attitudes regarding inclusivity and equality." They also lost their long-term coach Juve at the start of the new season, with the organization now replacing the young Portuguese coach with trace.
The Dane, who joins Into the Breach after coaching several domestic teams, is most known for standing behind Astralis for eight months after getting promoted from Astralis Talent. He also boasts considerate playing experience in 1.6 as one of the game's best players.
"trace is an experienced former player and also an experienced coach with a good attitude. We think he's a great fit for us as he's the oldest person in the team now," Marvin "Punico" Matthes, ITB's Head of CS:GO, told HLTV. "Nothing against Juve, he was a fantastic coach for us, but he isn't as experienced as trace due to his age."
Into the Breach's current roster is:
Thomas "Thomas" Utting
Joey "CRUC1AL" Steusel
Karol "rallen" Rodowicz
Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras
Martin "trace" Heldt (coach)
