BIG enjoyed a relatively straightforward run through the qualifier, receiving an invite straight to the playoffs before dispatching Sprout and their compatriots of ALTERNATE aTTaX to set up a must-win bout versus Looking4Org. The Frenchmen had dispatched of higher-ranked opposition in 9INE and Virtus.pro throughout their run, but ultimately fell to the Germans at the final hurdle following back-to-back 14-16 losses on Ancient and Inferno.
MOUZ also bagged themselves an invite to the Europe Series 1's playoffs, where they made light work of Sampi and 500 in their march to the qualifying matchup against Eternal Fire. The Turks struck first with a commanding 16-5 showing on Vertigo, but Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and company stabilized on Overpass and Mirage, where they triumphed with comfortable 16-8 and 16-2 scorelines, respectively.
Conversely, a number of big-name squads notably struggled during the qualifier. Apeks were sent packing by ALTERNATE aTTaX, whilst Virtus.pro were upset in a hard-fought, overtime affair by Looking4Org. Other unsuccessful squads include FURIA, whose dip in form since signing Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes continues, and Monte, who made it past SINNERS but fell to Eternal Fire in the quarter-finals.

BIG and MOUZ are the second set of teams to qualify for the $500,000 event, joining M80 and Wildcard on the team sheet after the two North American rosters successfully traversed their region's inaugural qualifier.
There are now a further 10 spots up for the taking for the Thunderpick World Championship. Six will be handed out by way of invites, joining Heroic and ENCE in bypassing the qualifiers altogether, while the remaining four berths will be dished out via Europe and North America's final qualifier, each of which offers two places to the online tournament.
