MOUZ defeat BIG to win $20,000 prize in Thunderpick qualifier
MOUZ emerged triumphant from the final of Thunderpick World Championship Europe Series 1.

MOUZ secured themselves a hefty $20,000 payday thanks to a 2-0 win over BIG in the Thunderpick World Championship Europe Series 1, having comfortably brushed aside the Germans on Mirage (16-7) and then secured a narrow win on Ancient (19-17).
Unsurprisingly David "frozen" Čerňanský was MOUZ’s most consistent force across the series, but Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo and Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás also produced strong performances, particularly on Mirage. BIG’s stiffest resistance came from a surprising source, David "prosus" Hesse, who has been BIG’s lowest-rated player since their off-season revamp.
Both teams had already secured a berth for the Thunderpick World Championship, which is scheduled to take place from October 27-November 5 and feature a $500,000 prize pool, by making their way to the grand final. MOUZ bagged an extra $20,000 for their efforts in winning said grand final, whilst BIG received a conciliatory $5,000.
Both teams had a relatively tough run to the final of the event, however they also both benefited from strong teams being upset early doors.
BIG had to take down Sprout, ALTERNATE aTTaX and Looking4Org to make the final, but they avoided the likes of Apeks, 9INE and Virtus.pro after the trio were defeated by underdog teams. MOUZ took out 500, Sampi and Eternal Fire, but might have had to face FURIA and Monte had those teams not suffered upset losses earlier in the bracket.
MOUZ and BIG now join the team list for the Thunderpick World Championship, an online event featuring a prize pool of $500,000. Wildcard and M80 had already earned a spot in the tournament thanks to their runs in the North America Series 1, whilst Heroic and ENCE have received direct invites. Six more teams will receive invites to the event, whilst four more will be found via Europe Series 2 and North America Series 2.
The current team list for the Thunderpick World Championship is as follows:
