1WIN, BNE among teams to reach RO16 of first CS2 open qualifier
Falcons, TSM, OG, and 9INE, meanwhile, couldn't make it through.

The European open qualifier for ESL Challenger Jönköping kicked off on Tuesday, becoming the first qualifier from the organizer to be run in Counter-Strike 2.
Nearly 300 teams took part in the single-elimination, best-of-one bracket to vie for one of the four closed qualifier spots, and that pool was whittled down to 16 by the end of the day.
A number of notable names couldn't make it through to day two and suffered defeats, the MR12 format doing some no favors as they only narrowly lost out.
Falcons and Sprout were among those affected by the slim margins in the new format, losing their matches 11-13 and 13-16, respectively, while TSM, OG, 9INE, Into the Breach, GODSENT, and BetBoom also couldn't find their footing and bowed out of the qualifier early.
Andrey "Jerry" Mekhryakov's new PARIVISION lineup did find success, however, defeating ECSTATIC to make it to day two. 1WIN, Bad News Eagles, and 00NATION were also among those to advance, and now have just two rounds of play separating them from advancing to the closed qualifier.

The Round of 16 was originally set to also be played on Tuesday, but some technical issues in a handful of matches resulted in delays. The Ro16 will instead kick off on Wednesday, with the best-of-three quarter-final round to follow to determine the four teams who will advance to the closed stage.
