TheMongolz qualify for ESL Challenger Atlanta

The Mongolian squad took the penultimate spot at the $100,000 LAN event.

TheMongolz will make the trip to Atlanta in December

TheMongolz have secured a spot at ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023 after beating TYLOO 2-1 in the Asian closed qualifier final. Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren and company defeated Newhappy and got the double over TYLOO on their way to qualification for the end-of-season event.

They will join teams such as Complexity, Monte, and Virtus.pro in Atlanta between December 15-17 as eight teams are set to battle it out for a $100,000 prize pool and a spot at ESL Pro League Season 19.

TheMongolz were directly invited to the closed stage of the qualifier alongside fellow grand finalists TYLOO. The game was a rematch of their previous encounter in the ESL Challenger Jönköping qualifier, where TYLOO prevailed to secure their spot at the Swedish event, but the Chinese side couldn't repeat the feat this time around.

The final started on Nuke, and TYLOO got off to a hot start on their defense to go 8-2 up before a double-AWP setup by TheMongolz netted them four at the switch. The Mongolian squad kept up their momentum and tied up the scores at nine, but Zhuo "advent" Liang's 1vs2 clutch put his team up to map point, which they converted to a 13-11 victory.

Mirage was next, where TheMongolz secured a comfortable 13-6 victory to tie up the series. Their win was aided by both pistol rounds going their way, but the Mongolian side was visibly a cut above their opponents on their pick.

Overpass was another close-fought affair, with the teams unable to be separated in a 6-6 first half. TheMongolz's pistol-round prowess continued to net them a 10-6 lead, and the Mongolian squad had no trouble closing out a 13-7 victory.

nah, there's no way they would beat Mongolz since in this qualifier, Mongolz were playing where they don't have to deal with power outages and ping issues.

Dunno dunno... LV is the strongest ch team with no clear weak link like tyloo with advent They are on par with Mongolz

I can list them, their weak links are: -Lack of international LAN experience, still need more -Discipline -Aren't as structured like Mongolz -Aren't as coordinated like Mongolz -Problems with mental despite it being significantly stronger than TYLOO's -weak CT side -midrounding and overpeeking. -They don't trade consistently go for trades. -Map Pool Despite being the best China has right now, there's still a gap between them and Mongolz. And unlike most asian teams, Mongolz play like an EU team due to being far more structured and coordinated compared to their other asian counterparts. If Lynn Vision can spend the next few months figuring out their issues, they can close the gap and also be able to properly compete internationally.

They are equal on lvl to Mongolz. Mongolz has a bit more lan experience no more. LV had a great showing at EPL. Mongolz lack discipline too, their ct are weak too. Structure and coordination i cant say. Mental is strong, id say stronger than mongolz and obviously x10 than tylul Map pool yeah, weaker than mongolz and same permaban

I watch their games, Mongolz are noticeably far more structured and coordinated as a team. Ye, Mongolz has problems with their CT side but I still notice that they're way more coordinated as a team and they play the standard "structured CS". Ye LV had a good showing at EPL and showed that they can match EU teams at times but they're not as coordinated like their mongolian counterparts. They are noticeably very persistent however, more than Mongolz even. but their midrounding is still poor and they don't seem to do trades alot, and like I stated a few times, their coordination isn't as great, just look at CAC for example. Had some starts against MOUZ and Astralis but later collapsed due to various issues such as what I listed. If it was Mongolz instead there, they likely would've put up a far better fight and MOUZ and Astralis would have to actually sweat their asses off.

its actually unbelievable how bad TYLOO's mental is. Even Lynn Vision has better mental and they're not really any better in that aspect frankly if shit goes wrong.
