FireGamers won the WCG Pan-American finals after a 2-1 victory over Evil Geniuses.
On de_nuke, a good start from FireGamers as Terrorist put them up 5-0, before Evil Geniuses finally managed to get into the game and reduce their deficit to just one round. A lot of close rounds then followed, with neither side able to distant themselves from the other, as the scoreboard showed 8-7 in favour of the Brazilians at the break.
The second half started off with FireGamers the better once more, and a good first four rounds put them very close to the win. Evil Geniuses still tried to make something, but FG's strong defence kept a distance between the Brazilian side and their opponents as they won the map 16-11.
Both teams then moved on to de_train, where Evil Geniuses, who began on offensive duties, won the opening three rounds. However, the rest of the first half would practically belonged to FireGamers, as an inspired Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo powered them to an 11-4 lead.
The second half began with EG winning another pistol round, but then some good offensive play from FireGamers put them just two rounds away from the victory. However, the Americans picked themselves up right after and improved their defensive game to level the match on 15 rounds and take the game to overtime.
After a first overtime in which neither side could prove their superiority, as both claimed 3-0 results as CT, FireGamers had a flawless first half as Terrorist, and won the first round as CT to secure a 22-18 victory.
