SK announce new squad

SK Gaming have snared the duo of Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg from fnatic.

News first surfaced yesterday, when rakaka.se reported that several former fnatic members had wished to bring in Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström and Jimmy "allen" Allen from SK Gaming.

fnatic strongly opposed the move, and chose to stick with the team's leaders in Patrick "cArn" Sättermon and Harley "dsn" Örwall. The German-based organization then reportedly opened their doors to the fnatic duo to form such a team, leaving the former fnatic members to take the show on the road elsewhere.

Despite Alexander "TheSlaSH" Müller-Rodic, Managing Director for SK Gaming, denying the reports in his blog, in which he stated: "none of that is true right now and we did not open any door to anyone", a new team was today unveiled.

f0rest to wear the SK jersey from now on

The former fnatic teammates, Alesund and Lindberg, have indeed proceeded to sign contracts with SK, but Ståhl has not been included in the transition. Perhaps to no big surprise, considering their earlier feud.

SK Gaming roster now boasts:

Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström
Jimmy "allen" Allen
Johan "face" Klasson
Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund

This news now completes the SK roster, but leaves a vacancy in fnatic as well as Lions. With Dennis "walle" Wallenberg being linked to retirement, Andreas "moddii" Fridh and Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl stand as free agents. Perhaps the ball is now in Lions' court?

They were doing pretty good when they have replaced Robban with Delpan. Some say walle played pretty good in previous DH, but general was a minor baggage to the team lately. Walle getting replaced with f0rest is a huge plus for SK. It might catch a bit attention but two transferred players almost at the same level as Moddi. So it won't make that much of a difference on loosing Moddi part.

balancing the team? Imo like ceh9 in navi perhaps, he's not a fragging machine, but his role is important to navi. When Edward or starix is having "off day", he can stand up to pick important frags for the team.

does balancing the team mean make a team little worse to be as good as other teams? i guess not i would rather compare ceh9 to face than allen, coz they are both great clutchers. also ceh9 is consistant, he's making lots of entry frags + other kills, which i don't see allen doing these days.

The old SK didn't have a proper AWPer, walle was very far from it, RobbaN was good, yet not a markeloff type. He's not a beast, but I think it will work out a llot better than the old SK did.

Judging by personal appearances this team is weaker. Robban is better than cArn if we're talking about aiming, but allen is weaker than dsn... and Gux is imo better than face but let's say they're both great. But team means more and we have to wait ;) Gux =((((

Couldn´t agree more. In my opinion the reason why SK failed was because of allen&walle. They removed walle, but they kept allen. Oh well allen has to step it up although i think he won´t. They should have kept moddii..

They kept allen for chemistry reasons... obviously. A team changing 3+ players is a lot more difficult then keeping a core of 3 and building around that. Although I DO agree that moddii was SK's best player for the past few tournaments.

I JUST DON'T GET IT OK WALLE I CAN UNDERSTAND ( he one of my favorites players ) but still why moddi when he came to SK he was almost every mach leader in that team OMG and walle he was SK soul and not the worst player.. imo they failed. they failed because Na'Vi should have been their main concern, and the two new line-ups aren't stronger than the old fnatic one, which already wasn't enough against the Ukrainians. it means that Na'Vi will just keep owning everybody. the only way to beat them them was to get f0rest, gtr and Delpan in the same team, along with a great igl (like cArn, RobbaN or maybe threat), and someone like Gux/moddii/manne/Xizt/niko/etc... one of the dumbest thing i've ever heard.. Fnatic did beat navi with Threat in a couple of matchs, and navi arent that BETTER than old fnatic look at the scores in the last Dreamhack (2-1 last map inferno 16-13 for navi), and fnatic were lacking out of team chemistry, the one thing that separated them from the rest of the teams in the world in 2009, they didnt have it no more, so it was time for a change, and forest already played with robban in Begrip with callipo etc, so he knows what robban can pull of, and with two other sick aimers like GT and face, if they find the right chemistry, they will be top1 in the world, NO doubt! get over ur bitterness fnatic (fan)boy... :)

Back when Gux played for SK he was their star player. He always top fragged, while face was ranked around 3rd. I'm not saying face is a bad player, but he's inconsistent. Especially vs teams that matter. Back when Gux joined SK, Robban called him the best teammate he's ever played with. A compliment like that from a cs veteran like Robban shouldn't be brushed aside lightly.
