ASUS Winter 2011 with €7,300

The organisation behind the ASUS tournaments has announced more details about the upcoming event.

ASUS Winter 2011 will run from 26-27 February at the Kiev Cybersports Arena, the same location of the IEM5 European Championship Finals.

The Counter-Strike Masters competition will feature a prize purse of 300,000 rubles, approximately €7,300, with the exact distribution to be made public in a week's time.

Prior to the main event, there will be a LAN qualifier at the Click-Net center in Moscow on 20 February for 32 teams, which will qualify an unspecified number of sides to the tournament in Kiev.

Meet Your Makers are the current ASUS champions after winning the Autumn edition with a 2-1 victory over DTS.chatrix in the final.

More informations about the event will be released in the forthcoming days, so stay tuned to HLTV.org.

nice :D

Ridiculous. - talking about Korean esport obviously mean SC. He was talking about SC. Videogames aren't esport in general. fyi. - Asus is not Ukrainian tournament. Its only hosted in Ukraine, coz of better esport situation.

well thank you, thats good to know, I always get confused between Ukraine and Korea, so hard to tell apart. Here is a fun fact for you. A Fiat is not a Porsche. Again I don't see the relevance.

Not nice to mock his English standards, what he meant was that Ukraine is not under the same caliber as such of the likes of Korea. Honestly he has a point as Germany, Korea, China, and Sweden are under a completely different level than Ukraine which is more like an infant in CS e-sport these days.
2011-02-02 14:13

I was not trying to mock his English skills which look fine, adding from his other posts, more the laziness of them, and when I asked for him to elaborate, well he kinda asked for it, and I was getting a bit annoyed of all these reply's, and probably went a bit overboard. Don't get me wrong, I find the prize purse very fair for this tournament, my reply to HBO was merely because he used the phrase "for a videogame tournament" and I wanted to enlighten him if he was not aware, how much some people make of just a videogame. I hate communicating over the interwebz sometimes :/
2011-02-02 14:55
1 reply
Ah ok, i was under the impression you were judging his ability to elaborate which is why I thought I'd butt in :P. Yeah I understand your point of view, I was just trying to settle the issue before more people misunderstand and attack you for their reasoning of your posts. This is an article after all and not a forum thread :P Communicating over the interwebz can be risky if you use the wrong words :P
