Excello shut down

June 26th, 2011 19:18

Excello are without Counter-Strike representatives, as their Finnish team has disintegrated.

The team's stay under the auspices of the Portuguese-based organization Excello turned out to be short-lived, as they have now dissolved one month after being inducted.

Three days ago, the squad decided to withdraw their participation from Intel Challenge Super Cup 8, supposedly because of the lack of practice with their newest member.

"After aslak left our team I kind of felt that the last hope of us being good in the future also left so there wasn't any enthusiasm to try anymore with this team. We also had too much team changes because of players' motivations weren't big enough for example to be in time when we had agreed to play practice wars," Tomi "zabaz" Verkkoperä said.

Excello states in the announcement that housing the team was "an exception to our rule of not housing teams", and that they are not looking for any replacements.

Excello had the following:

 Tomi "zabaz" Verkkoperä
 Juuso "fonex" Malvela
 Luukas "lukee" Paananen
 Aleksi "allu" Jalli
 Tuomas "Type" Kauppinen

No offense, but that's typical for the finnish scene :( You guys were doing very well, played good at Xperia and when you changed lukee I think, everything started to collapse.. You guys shoulda stick together and keep fighthing ;)

Yeah, but the only thing that keeps destroying potential finnish teams is military service.
2011-06-27 00:45
But now finnish army is getting shortier :D was it 4months or sumtin
2011-06-27 09:07
Is military service obligatory in Finland? In Germany p.e. there ain't any military service on an obligatory basis any more as well as there is no more civilian service.
2011-06-28 18:14
Well, it's military service or civilian service, you can choose, well if you pass trough the military tests.

Tsk. Finish team + disband post after they do well in an event has no longer become a surprise these days. Then again usually the reason was army callings, not motivation.

What a team...

I'm bored about the finnish scenery. They've very good players, they can easily beat the giants and get the top but they always end without a good reason. PwR for example, is a strong team but I didn't see them in action yet. Gold times when we had 68N-29E and the old also legendary roccat.
2011-06-29 03:37
well i think powergaming didnt have much of motivation left.. i think that is very good reason to quit or have a little break from cs.
2011-06-29 17:26
im just saying...or asking.....Is CS 1.6 dying?
