SK Gaming have been crowned as winners of the IEM6 Global Challenge New York, beating WinFakt 2-0 to earn the $16,000 cheque for first place.
The New York event has come to an end, with SK as the victors of the tournament, following a very one sided final against the Finnish team WinFakt. The final started on de_mirage and it was SK who executed the best start on the map, playing from the CT side. At half-time, the score was 10-5 in favor of the Swedes. WinFakt were only able to rack up three rounds in the second half before SK had secured the six rounds to win the map.
Moving on to second map de_dust2, things got even more one sided. WinFakt won the honors to pick side and decided on the CT side. Smart choice or not, it ended up leaving them just two rounds at half time, with SK having won thirteen. Winning the pistol round in the second half, SK were not stopped by WinFakt and took another two rounds to win the IEM6 Global Challenge New York.
